The original 2001 factory-installed unit developed a small crack after 23 years and 200k mile. This item came with an attached valve, but the valve was too tall to I removed it and attached the correct one. Perfect fit and I was able to pass my Illinois state emissions inspection.

I bought this for my 2001 Frontier SE RWD with the 3.3L engine. Not sure if there is much difference between the 3.3L , 2.4L Frontiers or Xterras. The vapor canister is the exact same as OE part but the Canister purge valve that is attached to it isn't. The original valve is about an inch taller than the replacement. This would be fine but the valve being shorter causes fitment issues. Valve sensor connection is pressed against the underside metal bracket mounting point, which would clear if it was taller as it shimmies above the bracket and between the truck bed. I'd either have to buy the individual valve and replace the one on it or cut the bracket the sensor hits, but its also the same bracket that mounts the canister from 3 bolts to the vehicle. The cannister on our 2003 Xterra had a small crack. This was the best price I found that included the purge valve. After dropping the spare tire, it is fairly easy to remove the three corroded bolts holding the cannister to the truck. I also replaced the two hoses since they were 15 years old and bought new stainless steel bolts to reinstall. Cleared the codes, drove it 75 miles, and passed emissions inspection.
