Replaced the rotted gas tank tray at my expense. Should be a safety recall since it could have fallen out of my Jeep hitting a bump.Thankfully this part is available since Jeep has discontinued it!

The factory part was priced higher than the Jeep was worth ! The cheap ones are thin and two pieces with bolts that can damage the plastic tank. This Dorman shield was the perfect mix of price and quality. Fits like a glove and restores the integrity of the rear fuel tank after the original metal shield was rusted out. Don’t hesitate to buy this if your fuel tank shield is rusted out and failing. It’s worth it to have the safety of a good replacement fuel tank cover that is priced right and fits perfect.

I have had this on my 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee for a few months and it is working well! Have not had any issues with it. I was very happy to find this on here because they are very hard to find, I would recommend buying it if you need it!

The part was a perfect fit and match for my ‘04 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited. My old one was in atrocious condition and the price here on Amazon was half of that at my local auto parts store. I went ahead and bought the gas straps to accompany this just to be on the safe side all the screws matched up that were on my Jeep frame for the new skid plate.

Not as thick as the OEM skid plate but a good replacement. Got mine bedlined for added protection and strength. Expensive for what it is though.

works great fit perfect. but i suggest you paint it top and bottom before you install it so it last longer. then cover the inside bottom with a thin layer of axle or break grease to keep it from rusting out and make sure you also buy the tank straps because the old one will also be in bad state too. drain the tank as far as you can before you try to install it i did mine by myself that was hard to do.had almost full tank of gas. had to siphon out 12 gal out, had 8 gal left in tank. it would of been easier if i had help for some of part of the install but now its all done. should of bought tank straps too. my old ones were not in great shape but they worked.

This Fuel tank Bush Guard supports the weight of the Fuel Tank. Replacement requires you to drop the tank with the old Guard, swap the fuel tank into the new Guard and install. I would recommend that you purchase new Fuel Tank Straps as well. If your Guard is rusted away, it is likely that the two straps are unusable as well.
