We’re great just wish it matched the color coordination with the original

Item was clearly used and returned. Resistor housing was melted and dirty. Plastic bag that was supposed to contain the rest of the parts was opened and missing half it's contents.

This Dorman 973-405 Front HVAC Blower Motor Resistor Kit is fairly easy to install. After installation the AC is working perfectly. It's so great that there is a ton of information on how to install this part online. Saving money, and time at the auto shop was a big plus. Having the ability to buy, and install the part for the AC without being an auto mechanic was a win. This was not a flimsy knock off part. The Dorman products are backed up with a warranty.

Perfect fit for 2003 Tahoe, Quiet. If your Blower Motor Resistor (973-405) keeps failing you should replace the Blower Motor (AC D 15-81646) as well. The Blower motor will draw more amperage as the fan motor starts to seize up, causing the resistor harness to melt. This will save from replacing the HVAC Blower Motor Resistor 4 times before you figure out, why? ☺

The resistor and harness fit exactly to our 2005 Chev Silverado. It is easy to install if you have a little mechanical ability.A third of the price that we could find at the local dealer and auto parts store.

this blower motor resistor is one of two types for this year and model truck (2005 gmc yukon).make sure you verify the correct type or you'll be disappointed by having to reorder the correct version.that said, once you have the correct version the product is very easy to install.it came with a new harness and connector, and wire crimp connectors for convenience.I recommend soldering the wire splices and using marine grade heat shrink tubing to protect.be sure to only work on one wire at a time.IE: cut one wire from the original connector match the corresponding wire on the new connector, the wires are not color coded. make your splice and then repeat with the next wire position.total repair time was about ½hour with a few mins spent on waiting for my solder iron to reach temp.there is a procedure available on YouTube.

Installation fairly straightforward if all your wiring/connectors are in good shape! They include main wiring harness was included but mine had been replaced previously so won't need it at the moment! All blower speeds now work after replacement of this faulty hardware. This was for a 06 GMC Sierra crew cab with dual manual controls.

The purchase came on time, and it does work, but it took a bit of finagling to get it in. Otherwise, it's all right.

The resistor pack did include the wiring harness. However, I did not need the harness since the existing harness was still in good shape (but have kept it for possible future use).Comment: The unit is a resistor pack which can produce Heat--hence mounted within the cool-air stream to keep it cool. Operation: The unit produces more heat at lower fan speeds (nature of the beast) because the various resistors are of different values (high value for low speed & produces MORE heat, low value for higher speeds & produces LESS heat) depending on the switch position. That said, Radio Shack or similar type component stores sell a small Heat Sink (about $2) & thermal-transfer grease ($2-3) that can be used with the resistor pack. Using the Heat-sink & grease will Increase the life of the resistor unit by providing better heat transfer to the air passing over the unit & extend its useful life. Make certain that you purchase the correct size for the surface that the heat-sink will mount to.Instructions After removing the old unit:1) Note the shape & size of the Flatter side of the new unit.2) Shape or bend Slightly the heat-sink to match the curve of the side where you will attach the bottom of the heat-sink (fins upward). Insert the unit for a trial fitting. Make certain that you mount the heat-sink in such a way that will NOT touch the sides of the space where the unit will be mounted.3) Apply a generous amount of the Heat Transfer grease to Both the unit & bottom of the heat-sink.4) Set the heat-sink on the unit then fasten with a 6-8" Nylon zip-strip or small-gage (20ga or a little smaller) wire & hand-tie a little snug. Do NOT over-tighten.5) If the sink is mounted correctly, unit & heat-sink will install correctly per instructions.6) After installing unit, make certain the 2 power plugs are correctly connected.7) Turn on key & check that your speeds are correct.
