How to play

DD151 Roll

Roll the dice and choose your coins

The player with the”1st” Mayhem Card begins a turn by rolling two dice into the Felt-Lined Dice-Rolling Tray (Lid). If each die shows a different number, the player adds the two numbers and takes the corresponding amount of change out of the Money Tray. Place these coins in the “Risk It” section of the Score Card.

DD151 Make Change

Keep rolling to get more coins

Keep rolling to get more coins, adding consecutive roll totals and the resulting coins to the “Risk It” Score Card section. Making change as you go!

DD151 Doubles

Doubles on a dice roll

Watch out! Players can keep rolling as long as they want, but if a player rolls a double number (e.g., “8” and “8”) the player’s turn ends, and they must return all coins in the “Risk It” section of their Score Card to the Money Tray. It is now the next players turn per the Mayhem Card order.

DD151 Bank

Banking money

Players can choose to bank money in increments of 25 cents during their turn. Banking money ends a turn, but it protects money from being lost on future double-number rolls. To bank money at any time during your turn, convert 25-cent increments of “Risk It” coins into quarter coins and place them on the “Bank It” section of the Score Card. Bank as many quarters as you want on your turn, as long as you have enough change in the “Risk It” section to make them. If after banking money a player’s total is less than $1.51, it is now the next players turn per the Mayhem Card order.

DD151 Mayhem

Pick a Mayhem Card

Choose appropriate number of Mayhem Cards to correspond to number of players in the game (e.g., cards “1st” and “2nd” for a two-player game, “1st”, “2nd”, and “3rd” for a three-player game, etc.). These cards determine order of play for each round.

DD151 winning

Winning the Game

Win the game by being the first player to total $1.51 or more on your Score Card.

This game is short, sweet, educational, and just downright fun! I love the quality of the dice, instructions, and box (felt). I bought this for homeschooling because my ADHD kiddo doesn't like worksheets. I can see us playing this A LOT, and him mastering coin counting!

This game helps teach math concepts like addition and unit conversion through the real life application of using money. This can be a good motivator for learning because it shows how such math can be used daily. We replaced the play money that came with the game with real money to make the math even more relevant and less abstract. The included dice are great for more challenging addition, but we also switched one of the due out with a standard 6sided dye to make the math simpler, since one of our children has dyscalculia, and basic addition has not yet been mastered. We like that it can be modified in this way until that skill is acquired.

We bought this game to play with my kids at the Florida Home School conference with the expectation that it would help build speed with basic addition and money counting as well as other benefits like strategic thinking, appropriate risk taking, and probabilities. This game delivered on each of those items to a degree that I hadn't anticipated.Think of the basic Math fact sheets. The ones where your kids have to answer as many basic addition problems out of 100 as they can in 5 minutes. My son was not a fan of those at all. Now imagine randomizing those addition problems and turning it into a game! My kids are having a blast rolling the dice and quickly recognizing what the two digits add up to, no griping or complaining, and they are getting incredibly fast at it too!My oldest son (9 years) has started thinking about risk when we play. He understands that if dad is likely to win on his next turn, that he should continue to roll in an effort to secure the win for himself while if we're early in the game he may want to pass the turn and bank his earnings. Las night I was pleasantly surprised when he wanted to figure out the odds of rolling doubles so that he could make better decisions about when to take risks and when to bank.I cannot speak enough praise about this game and the Election Night board game. Both are amazing and well thought out games that are accessible for children and fin for parents. My 9 year old can play independently while my 5 year old plays on a team with mom or dad, but he is taking in and understanding both the math and strategy aspects of both games. Amazing!

Wow! What an amazing game. Our family wanted something that would be exciting for all our children and educational. This game fits the bill! It helps the kids learn how to become currency fluent! This is such an important ability that kids seem to lose sight of now a days (in this digital era).We just got the game but the kids just want to keep playing and playing! I would highly recommend this to all families!

I recently attended the National Council of Mathematics Teachers’ (NCTM) national convention and heard about this game. It sounded great so I decided to buy it for my classroom. (I teach 4th and 5th graders.) I used it with a small group and my students loved it! (Especially when they beat me!) This game provided multiple talking points on basic addition facts, probability, coin identification, adding money, making change, and decimals. The lid of the game being felt lined so you can have students roll the special dice in it so dice don’t end up across the room is a fantastic bonus! The dice don’t have the numbers 1 or 2 on them so students can get more practice with the harder facts. This game is really easy to learn. I enjoyed it so much that I now have two sets so I can have more than 1 group of students playing at a time.

My daughter and I enjoyed playing this together for some math practice. It’s great for counting coins, practicing simple addition, and risk taking. It was easy to catch on to the rules and had a simple game play. We both enjoyed playing it!

I promised I'd write a review after purchasing this from the Cincy homeschool convention... it took us three weeks to even open it as life got busy! BUT, once we did open it, we discovered it's the funnest educational math game we own! In fact, the kids got me to play at 8am this morning! It's great fun for my 7 yr old and older kids, one said this morning it was the 'funnest' game we own :D It teaches math and money while being fun. It also allowed me to talk to them about gambling as they experienced the thrill of rolling those dice and then losing it all! you won't be dissapointed if you purchase this game for your kids!

My boys love playing this game. I got it so that we could work on making change. My husband and I own a small organic farm, and we have the kids help out with the booth. They where struggling with running the cash register, and this game has helped them with confidence about making change, and counting back quickly.
