I give this 5 stars for stopping debris from going down the down spout. Larger leaf debris will still dam-up and stop the water from leaving though. This unit will rotate into place without modification under 2.9" or higher support strip (see picture of 2.9")..

I installed one Gutter Stick on the house's gutter and one on the garage's gutter. The rectangular base was flemsy and won't stay flush with the bottom of the gutter without using glue or adhesive. Gutter Stick may keep debris out of the downspout but it also reduces the drainage rate of the water which caused my gutters to overflow after just a few minutes of rain. I decided to get rid of the Gutter Sticks and install leaf guards from Amerimax Home Products instead. I should have done that in the first place. For less than the price of 2 Gutter Sticks, you can keep debris completely out of your gutters.

Skip the expensive leaf filters and just add these at each downspout. Why are these better than leaf filter?A. Costs lessB. Stops clogging at each downspout which is the real concern.C. Still allows you to periodically access and clean your gutters which you still need to do even with leaf filters.D. Allows more water to flow into gutters during periods of heavy rain.E. Very easy to install.

One year update: Installed these almost a year ago. They do clog easier as previously reported. The reason I bought these is because my downspouts are smaller than most leaf filters. These fit very well. So plus one for that. Also, I just had to go up and clean them again for the second time in a year... previously I would have had to go up on the ladder quite a few times by now so plus one for that. Also, it's the gutter filter that gets clogged now (easily cleaned) instead of the downspout that often needed to be snaked clean. So I'm happy about that. Will be buying a couple more so I upped my review to "ok". I don't know what could be done to make the design better but installing these things did make my life better so thanks for that!**********************************These things do not work at all! They clogged up very quickly and once clogged they are difficult to clean. You have to take them down (a second trip up and down the ladder X however many of these you have) to clean with a pressure hose.Great idea but these things just don't work. $50 wasted!

I was so excited to find this product! I have a scupper (see images) that catches water coming off a trough in our roof because of the porch roof. The wire cage products that stick up from the downspout to keep the leaves get overwhelmed by debris during a heavy rain. That results in a waterfall outside our sliding glass door. This product went in for me without alteration (though they allow that for best fit). I'm excited about the long, multi-holed approach that should allow much more water to drain out. Flat collar could be tighter fit when it snaps in, but otherwise great.

I get a lot of leaves and pine needles in my gutters and am hoping these gutter sticks won't clog as quickly as the round metal strainers I was using before. These gutter sticks are made of a nice thick plastic and seem to be good quality. They come with good instructions and were easy to install. I did need to cut out an area on each one so they'd fit under my gutter straps but this was easy to do. Only minus thing I can say about these is at $50 for two I think they're a little high priced .UPDATE: I've had these 4-5 months now and they have worked as promised. I checked yesterday and there was debris all around the gutter sticks but no clogging and the gutter was dry. Nice !
