Installation Guide
1st Step
Insert the cable of the lamp to the drain plug hole and connect with the extension cord.
2nd Step
Use proper amount of "Thread Seal Tape" on the lamp thread and then use the wrench to tighten the lamp to the drain plug thread.
Final Step Option #1
If there's an On/Off switch panel in your boat, then just connect the cables to the switch panel's +/- ends.
Final Step Option #2
If you're connecting it directly to the battery, please hook up the red cable (+) to the fuse and then connect with the battery.

Updating to 3 stars as the seller has reached out and worked with me on a solution to the corrosion I've experienced. Very understanding and accommodating. I would urge users to understand that there are real corrosion concerns if this is paired with brass insert threads. Likely exacerbated if left in the water full time. Especially in salt water environments.[initial review] I'll update a photo next time I pull the boat out of the water, but I noticed black markings from where this plug had been sitting in on the brass threads of my boat. My boat sits in brackish water full time but is used in salt water often. Unaware that brass and stainless shouldn't be married together in marine environments, I purchased this with excitement. Don't do it.Galvanic Corrosion: When different metals, like stainless steel and brass, are in contact in the presence of an electrolyte (like seawater), there is a potential for galvanic corrosion. In this pair, brass is the more anodic metal and may corrode faster when in contact with stainless steel, especially in a marine environment.

I was surprised with how bright it was in the water. But, I could never get it tight enough. The wrench supplied is thicker than the nut on the back of it so it gets stuck in the plug when you try and tighten it all the way. It didn’t matter how much thread tape I used I was only able to get it hand tight and water would seep in.

It is bright but don't expect to see it behind the boat when driving because of the wake wash. But overall really good.

What a neat invention. Make to hole in the stern of your boat useful and add this underwater LED light. I have not yet installed this but did test it on a power supply and wow is it ever bright! The light looks to be extremely well made and you can immediately discern its quality by the weight of the light. I cannot wait to install it on my boat this summer and see the water glow beneath my boat. 5 stars for brightness and construction quality!
