This is something that you need if you want to do a quick fix to your aging bike that you've had when you were little. It's designed well and it is the perfect size as well. Other than that, it's made with a durable but hard plastic that can take abuses especially if your kids will just lay the bike on the lawn or the front of the garage not caring about the dings and scratches that it will get. There is a good grip to it but not too aggressive like the metal ones. These will not damage the soles of your shoes or flipflops as well. Overall, this is a good replacement that should last pretty long. The only part that will probably rust is the stud that screws into the crank but that's if you live near the beach or some humid area. This is pretty much worth it for something that you don't care about getting abused.

This is a vine review of a free product, so bear that in mind. These pedals are sturdy, I like the strong plastic cleats that should hold on in all weather. The material is strong and should last.Replacing pedals is often a small project, so be prepared. It might be a 9/16" shaft, but you will need a 15mm open end wrench to get it off, and maybe a pipe extender. I still had to put a block of wood under the pedal on one side. There are some special spanners which I hear are great for hard jobs. I had to use WD-40 overnight to loosen them up, and even then it was a project.Right and left pedals are threaded differently, so the L side loosens going clockwise (while facing the crank on the L side) - the opposite of what you might expect. The R side with the chain loosens going counterclockwise (while facing the crank from the R side). Make sure you put the R pedal (marked with an "R" on the end of the bolt) in the R side. I hear adding a light coat of waterproof grease to the threads before you put them helps prevent difficulties getting the pedals off the next time.

My son’s bicycle had broken pedals from the harsh sun weakening the plastic. It is a little difficult to know exactly if the pedals will be the appropriate size for a child’s bike, but these were perfect for his bike. Easy to install. Work as expected. Good quality.

Got these for my ebike build. They are a good chunky pedal, the plastic is not that hard brittle, but has a softness to it that makes it seem not cheap, even though they are priced very well. Not worried about getting some nasty shin bite with these and like that they have a larger footprint.
