The blade is sharp as is the point. They seem to be well balanced and throw well. The three different color handles are nice to track different throws. Unfortunately one of the handles broke after about the 5th throw so I can't give them a good review. The wood on the handle just splintered - It wasn't a hard throw either. It didn't appear to be glued/epoxied to the metal very well. I will request a replacement and update this review if the replacement are good and don't have any issues.

Full disclosure. I am not an 'axe' throwing guy. Naturally, I have tried throwing hand axes before while camping or chopping wood but never thought much of it.These are not standard hand axes and I am pretty sure no one will ever intentionally want to use one for chopping wood. They appear to be stamped metal shaped into a reasonable facsimile of an axe with a sharp tomahawk style blade and a pointy backside. You get three axes with differently stained wooden handles and cloth sheaths. There is no target included, you will need to figure that part out on your own.I took aim at a handy tree. Missed it a few times. Clanked a few shots which landed off the blade. I stepped back to give the axe a chance to rotate and sure enough, started to stick it. The blade penetrates the wood easily and far more effectively than if you simply wielded this like a hammer.This is potentially a REALLY dangerous activity. The axe is wicked sharp... and you are throwing the thing. Not something for kids, unstable adolescents or adults with emotional control concerns.I am giving it five stars in a vacuum. Not comparing it to any other brand or commenting upon weight or balance as I don't have any qualifications in that department. These are sharp, nicely made and seem to do the job.

Horse shoes are for sissies, these things are cool!These axes are Very sharp, but if they weren't, they wouldn't work. Think carefully about who you let use them. You've been warned!I saw this kit and ordered it on a whim. When it came in I was pleasantly surprised at the quantity of the hatchets. The handles are especially nice. They almost seem too nice to be used for throwing. They also come in three different handle colors, so if you have three people throwing them, everyone will know which one belongs to them. I'm not sure they meet the requirements for official axe throwing competitions, but they are light enough to carry into the woods for random throwing into dead trees. The spike on the back gives you an opportunity to work on some trick throws, like an under handed throw. We saved some old cedar fence boards that I'll be using to make a dedicated target on.Now, someone hold my beer and y'all watch this...

**Sharp, Sturdy, and Ready to Stick**Took these axes out for a spin today, and let’s just say my backyard now looks like a medieval training ground. The weight feels just right—heavy enough to stick consistently but light enough for controlled throws. The high-carbon steel heads hold an edge well, and the wooden handles have a solid grip without feeling bulky.Each axe has a different colored handle, which is surprisingly handy when you’re trying to track your throws. The sheaths are a nice bonus for keeping things safe when transporting them (or avoiding unexpected toe amputations).If you’re looking for a fun way to unleash your inner Viking, this set delivers. Just don’t blame me when you start eyeing every tree stump as a potential target.
