Its a good base but don't frame the alcove until you get it. i't a little bigger than it claims. Also, it's sturdy but maybe has too much going on underneath to set in mortar or plaster. Don't forget, there's a plastic film covering the whole thing.

This is a sturdy and well built base. I had no problems installing it. Just bear in mind that you have to start out with a stable sub floor/substrate. Also, there are not many 42" shower wall kits so this base it's intended to be used along with tile walls.
