High Speed Steel Hand Taps come in three styles: Taper Style: Starts the thread square with the workpiece. Plug Style: Generally used in thru holes. I desperately needed a particular non-standard thread count on a 3/4 inch hand tap. This was the best priced one I found, anywhere. It is a nice tap, with 2 inches of cutting threads.
