This is my second 9000 stand. I liked the first one so much so that a second one had to be purchased.Since they’re heavier than the 3000, the toms don’t move as much, and of course the added feature of applying 2 cymbals saves on floor space. I also like the many ways they arms can be adjusted. It’s money we’ll spent.

Allows for minimal /small stages,& Less stands needed, required, wanted, as you can fit 2x cymbals on one stand, therefore saving both $&time, especially if you don't have the luxury of a drum technician, highly recommend it.

Great stand-very heavy, but also heavy duty! Will not have to worry much about this one. DW is superb!

Sturdy and solid. Works great and sets up easily. It's heavy and that's a good thing. No problems with it.

I like to have my set with as few as possible stands and I bought this one trying to attach to it two heavy cymbals, a 20" A custom China and a 20" A custom ride. What I liked the most of this 9702, is the double ratchet it has, this makes the boom to behave in a really versatile way. As stated in the product description, it has a larger base than the traditional DW 9000 series stands, and that gives it more stability.(However, if you are only going to attach two cymbals like the ones I mentioned, you don't need this stand, you can get it done with another DW 9000 series stand and a dogbone or something like that and you're not going to notice the difference in stability. I say this because I have a DW 9700 stand and I used to have the two cymbals on it, I never saw any sight on instability on the stand. Since I needed another one stand, I wanted to try the 9702 ...)The 9702 comes with a and you can move it to the main or the additional boom. You can actually add more DWSM2031 for adding more small cymbals...Finally, I decided to add a to the DWSM2031 it comes with the stand and now I have the ride, the china, a 16" crash and a 8" splash on this stand. The stand moves a bit on hard strikes to the crash, but it doesn't seem to make any harm to it.I'm pretty sure that I can easily attach another clamp to the base (like the ) for adding another ride and this stand will do the work with no problem.I recommend this stand if you are going to have more than two cymbals on it, if you need to have only two, try the combined with the Cymbal stacker or another clamp and you'll get done.

I really could not find anything wrong with this stand. It's articulate in all the right places and is extremely sturdy and bulky.
