Inspired by the hardware of the 50’s and 60’s, 6000 Series hardware features a lightweight aluminum flush base and music stand-style folding design. It’s the lightest hardware We offer, yet performs surprisingly well for rock players as well. A scaled down version of the popular line-up of 6000 series retro-styled, flush-base hardware, 6000 series ultralight stands utilize smaller diameter, lighter gauge steel tubing and a low mass tube joint for optimal portability. Other Marquis features include a new Glide Tilter for exacting adjustment of cymbal and snare drum angles. An “old-school” snare basket design get a modern, spring-loaded make over and the hi-hat stand is as smooth and effortless as its 6000 cousin. Ultralight hardware is a perfect for bop kits, vintage sets and gigging drummers everywhere.

I really wanted to like this lightweight snare stand, and get the rest of the range to save carrying a lot of heavy stands. But, for me, it was too lightweight and not rugged like the heavier stands I use, and couldn't get used to it. I have given the stand a full 5 stars as I believe the problem is with me and not the stand, however. I shall now compromise with probably the 700 or 800 series Yamaha stands and lighter stands that are still rugged.

I bought this to use with a little jazz bop kit I have and i wanted light weight.I was a little concerned when I ordered it as I like a secure snare stand. When I took it out of the box and the stand was wrapped, I actually thought there were going to be parts missing, but it was complete.Nice light weight (just over 3 lbs) has a nice basket for the snare that is adjustable with a unique spring load and is as solid has my mid weight snare stands I usually use. In fact, I think it is under half of the weight of the one I was carrying, so mission accomplished. In general I like the ball type baskets for snare stands, but once it's set I generally don't change it, so this one fits the bill.

This DW ultra light weight snare stand is great! It has a sturdy flush base, is easily adjustable and only weighs 2.5 lbs. I can put it in my suitcase, along with some sticks and a pad for practice when I’m traveling.

I love DW drums and hardware. I bought my first piece of DW hardware in 1992, a 5000 series hi-hat stand, and it still works perfectly to this day. I fully expect the same durability from this snare stand. Years ago, I fell for the con.. all your stands should be heavy and fat, double- braced, and counterweighted. It’s not true. Lightweight hardware like this is really all you need. 100% recommended for all drummers of all levels.

I've included three photos that compare this to the Tama "The Classic" snare stand. The DW is better designed and constructed, and slightly heavier. I will stick with the Tama, though, because although the DW will work for me with a 5" deep snare drum, it sets too high at its lowest setting for my 6" Sonor and my many other 6.5" snare drums. It's height range is 16.5 to 25 inches, which is a wider range than the Tama, and it's basket folds flat against the tube (the Tama has known design issues that require breaking it down into two pieces to store.) Still, as much as I want to love this stand, it only meets my needs when I am mounting specific snare drums. I don't regret purchasing it, and I admire the engineering and construction, but the stand in my bag is my Tama. Measure carefully before your purchase this stand. You may be ecstatic or disappointed, depending on your personal ergonomic needs. If it is within your height range you will be very pleased with it.

I gave it a 5 in thickness, because it is thin - which is the point of ultra lightweight gear. It is sturdier than you might expect, but not at the top end of sturdiness. But, especially as a small tom stand for a small kit, the stand is able to be positioned low for short people, small bass drums, and the like. A perfect compliment to the set of this stuff that I bought - I wanted a second snare stand for the small tom, rather than an awkwardly positioned bass drum mount - PERFECT!! An entire set of this stuff is lighter than maybe two of my old, super heavy duty stands. My back is also very happy!

This snare stand is super light, yet sturdy. Probably not for metal players, but great for everyone else! I got this stand because it's light enough that I can fly with it. I always bring my amazing Sakae Trilogy snare with me to every overseas gig and now I have a stand with me too, so that I can use that for radio shows, rehearsals, etc. Excellent product!

Excellent tom stand! My 12" tom sings on this thing. It's surprisingly stable for how light weight and narrow it is. I previously tried using heavier duty stands like the 3000 series, and it choked the life out the drum. Not with this one. The drum resonates as well as it did from the suspended isolation mount I had, and I've been able to reduce the tom weight by removing it. If you have some giant power tom or something, you might want to look elsewhere, but for my 12 x 9, it's perfect.

For the most part, this stand works fine for me. But there are two things that I hadn't considered before purchase. One is that you will need to use the memory-lock to keep the snare base from sinking. If you are the only player, then that's fine, but if you share your kit with another taller/shorter drummer, then it's not going to be able to be adjusted quickly enough between players. The second thing is that, due to the two locking arms, I have difficulty getting my snare level. Both my snares have wood rims with claws, and the distance of the locking snare arms are fixed such that they are always under one claw, changing the angle of my snare drum ever so slightly. If I rotate my snare to avoid the stand arm, then I've got claws in my way on the top of the drum. So, I would only recommend this stand to players that play cast or triple-flange rims (clawless) snares.

This is a great snare stand if you are looking for something light and sturdy. If you are a heavy-hitter, you may want to stay away from this, but if you play jazz, for example, it's great. Very compact and light and typical DW quality. I have no complaints. I bought this in part to check it out and will probably buy the entire hardware pack. Great piece of equipment.
