Connects nicely and well built. However, it is designed to work with a flexible hose that has a' left hand' spiral. My old hose was like this but the new one I purchased had a 'right hand' spiral. I had to heavily modify it to work at all. Disappointing this wasn't mentioned.

The quality of the materials and the manufacture of the connector plate kit is fine. It definitely works as expected - but it doesn't make life a whole lot easier as I'd hoped it would. This is definitely a step up in convenience from digging out a screwdriver or a nut driver to loosen the hose clamp of a traditional dryer connection. This certainly makes periodic cleaning of the vent/duct easier - but it doesn't address the main hassle of connecting/disconnecting the vent. You still need to be able to get fully behind the dryer to attach or detach the vent. This means you have to have a pretty large amount of vent in place behind the dryer. I'm thinking that if you want to be able to attach/detach the vent without being fully behind the dryer, one of the much more expensive magnetic connector sets would be needed. But, if what you are after is being able to attach/detach the vent without using tools, this is a good solution.

This vent plate is a bit weird to me since it doesn't have any flange in the back side. But I think it might work to cover the inside side of my existing duct, once I figure out how to trim the pipework down closer to the wall. The quick-connect of this seems perfectly compatible with the ones on some other wall plates I've been testing. So I'll be able to trade my hose between the outside in the summer and a bit of inside ductwork in the winter.

This wall plate took us from a rough hole in the wall to a nice looking dryer attachment point. Helps to seal up around what would otherwise be a hole in the wall with flexible pipe through it. Easy install and attaches to your dryer pipe. However, you may need to rethink your piping or buy more pipe but it does make for a nicer presentation if your dryer vent pipe shows.

The Wall Plate Connector Kit - worked perfectly for me.I had my roof replaced three years ago. I happened to be walking in a hidden corner of my attic recently and found that the dryer duct had been blasting hot, humid dryer air into the attic for three years! (third photo) The roofers never attached it to the new vent they mounted in the roof deck. The new vent has a sheet metal hinged damper that's supposed to open when the dryer runs. But with the duct just sitting there, it could never build up enough pressure to open the damper. So, I searched and searched for something that would not only attach and seal the duct to the vent, but would allow me to remove the duct for cleaning lint out of both the vent and the duct. Then I found this connector.I found a 12" X 12" piece of plywood at a local woodworking hobbyist's store. I screwed this connector kit onto the plywood, then screwed the plywood into the underside of the roof decking.Using an adjustable 90-degree duct elbow, I was able to get the correct angle to join up with the duct leading to the vertical duct which goes down the wall to the dryer. To remove the duct assembly for cleaning, I just pull the assembly up from the vertical duct (loosen a hose clamp) and rotate the top of the duct attached to the wall plate connector until it detaches from the roof.I believe there is no better solution for what I was needing to do, than to use this kit. It seals very well and is easily separated for cleaning the dryer vent. I'm not aware of anything negative about it.

Durable plastic pieces that fit together well. The two pieces are easy to connect and disconnect . A 4 inch flexible duct hose ( sold separately )screws into the connector flange easily. To install you just insert the hose into the flange and twist so the wire on the end of the hose slides into the flange threads and it stays and it stays on. I'm happy with this.

This plate was not designed to hook up to a duct going thru a wall.If you precision cut the outside wall duct to fit flush with the wall then you will leave openings for moisture etc to escape into the wall. Cutting flush is not an option as my wall duct is sealed into the wall and Sealing everything to include the cavity behind the plate is ridiculous. The plates hose side adaptor threads are close to the duct flange opening so feeding the duct thru and cut bending wont work as it will jam the hose threads.I trialed a tapered duct outside vent cover with duct locking tabs and it was extremely tight (even with taper) fitting thru the plate from the outside.Since my still original setup was a vent flex hose clamped to a hard duct running thru a wall to an outside vent. This product Wont work.Unless you are going hose to product adaptor to product plate to outside tapered vent.If the outside duct coming in isnt short and tapered then whats the point of quick connect if you still have to fit the hose over a duct to twist it on. Tapering also is needed as clearance is needed to screw on the hose (inside)If this Product plate (hose side) had more room between the thread and wall duct opening then metal snips and hard duct folding would of worked. (Not easy).Adding a flanged duct adaptor with room to fit in the plate would have been best.As is as I see it...its for a thin shed wall or glass window and a short tapered duct ventcap where fit and sealing isnt high priority.
