I haven't installed it yet, but should make it easier to clean vent tube and vent from outside with out moving dryer out from wall unless you have lots of turns in your vent tube!

The vent cover itself is well-made. The front IS louvered - the flaps DO open easily with the air flow. The frame around the flaps pops open to allow for cleaning, say with a rounded brush. NOTE: The frame opens only to about 90% of the way, not completely up. This still allows easy access. Do not force it further or you may damage the housing. The metal duct arrives "flat" or rather curved in the box. This is good in case you need to measure and trim the tube. Doing so with the rounded tube is a lot harder. Shaping the tube and getting it's edges to interlock can be tricky. You may want to wear leather or heavy cloth gloves. The white plastic end cap seems like it will allow for paint to adhere to it. Look at Krylon and similar types that are especially suited to plastics. This is a great unit at a very good price.

Cheap quality, you have to make the tube yourself from a flat piece of metal they give you. Used it but would get a better one next time.

Garage didn't have a vent so I drilled it out with a hole saw and this beautiful vent slid right in with no issues. Added a little silicone caulking before inserting it, screwed it in and my dryer is running great. A+

Had one on our previous house, knew we had to change out, even though it meant going in the crawl space to do it. Just open the door and use your cleaning appliance. When done just close the door.

It is a good unit but too big to fit in my 5-18" shiplap siding. My fault not the units. Just check the size of the housing carefully.
