I have tried a couple brands of fret polish as well as a competitor's polishing sheets and so far Dunlop's are my favorite. They work quickly and well and are easy to use, and I've even managed to get a bit of a second life out of worn sheets by hand washing them in a bit of soap and water to get the gunk out and letting them air dry.I bristle a bit at the cost for what amounts to precut squares of sandpaper, but I've yet to find a paper (and I've tried), even at the same listed grit, that is as gentle, flexible, and effective as these little sheets.WARNING: Avoid the kit that packages these sheets together with a couple of thin metal fret guards. The guards are poorly finished on the edges and they will happily scratch the heck out of an unsuspecting fretboard.

Hello, I purchased the Dunlop fret polishing product after watching several online methods for fret care. The Dunlop 5410 works well but if you want the best result without causing damage to the fret board, I suggest you do the following. Start by cutting the polishing cloth into 1 inch squares. Next, go to a hardware store and purchase a 3M roll of blue painters masking tape 1inch in width. The tape is a little pricey but if you store it correctly, you will get many fret jobs out of a single roll. Next, remove all you guitar strings and use a slightly damp cotton wash cloth to wipe off any excess grime from your fretboard especially up against the frets. Next, cut and apply masking tape in between frets from top to bottom. Online techs are using exacto or utility knife to cut excess tape that overlaps the fret but I don't recommend that method for cutting. Instead, cut several 2.5 inch pieces of your blue masking tape. Next, start by placing tape edge right up against the bottom of the fret edge as it makes contact with the fretboard. Let the blue masking tape overlap each other in the middle of the fretboard. Next, as fret spaces start to narrow, you will need to cut your precut masking tape 2.5in pieces along the length to creat 1/2 in x 2.5 inch pieces. Next, use the thinner tape pieces factory cut edges up against frets and over lap the scissor cut edges. Repeat the process until the fretboard only exposes the frets. Next, use your 1in x 1inch Dunlop polishing cloth pieces an apply light to medium pressure to polish each fret. Be sure to polish the entire fret and not just the top. It will only take about 5 to 7 seconds per fret then move to the next fret. Before you start on your next fret, reposition your Dunlop cloth square to apply unused potion of your 1in x 1in. piece. Continue this method all the way up the neck until finished. You will find that only 2 or 3 squares will complete your entire fret polish. Next, use a slightly damp cotton cloth to remove any polish debris then inspect newly polished frets in good lighting to verify your results. If any one fret is not as shiny as the rest, simply go back and polish again. Do not apply too much pressure while polishing because you can always go back afterwards and polish again. I usually only require 2 of the 1in x 1 inch squares to complete an entire fret polishing job and may use a 3 square to apply a final 1 or 2 rub pass on each fret. Next, once you are happy with your results, remove all tape and wipe with a lightly damp cloth. This would now be a good time to apply a Dunlop lemon oil fretboard treatment before you restring your guitar. I hope this helps and keep rocking.

This does work well to polish your frets, but there are better products out there for the money. This can be bought in larger sheets if you are wanting to use this type of product. It's 8000 grit polishing/sanding cloth. If you're just looking to keep your frets shiny and smooth then I would look for the blue sheets in similar packs. If your frets are heavily neglected then you will need a multi step kit.

Very nice product. Two sheets was enough to polish the frets on a 7 year old strat. Next time, I will also use a 4000 grit first (before this 8000 grit product) and see if I can get an even better finish. The instructions say you can wash and reuse the sheets. I tried to wash, but most of the fret material remained on the sheet. I will try to re-use it and see if it works.

Buena calidad, durables para unos cuantos servicios en el taller, me gusta usarlas para dar el último toque a los trabajos de entrastado. El paquete debería traer al menos cinco.

You get two small (3"x3") pieces 3M 8000 grit micromesh. They do a wonderful job polishing frets without taking down material. One piece did my 22 fret electric and its pretty much compeletly dirty. It can probably do another guitar but less effectovrly. To be honest if you are going to be doing your guitar(s) often you would be better off spending a little more but getting a larger sheet of micromesh that could be cut into many of these small patches. That is what I plan to do next.
