We had dozens of mostly unmarked keys from various houses we or family members have lived in over the years. I took a couple of hours to test them against locks we currently use and tag them individually with this system.As I get older, I’m increasingly thinking about a future caretaker or family member who will step into our house and need to figure out what key goes to what. Now it’s organized and under some control.The box can be hung upside down if you need the hinge to be on the right. The combination lock is upside down, but that’s the only difference, and it’s not a problem for us.

I moved into an office that had this lock box, & the combination was not given to me. It did not take much effort to pull the door open, which is very concerning. I followed the directions to reset the combination by pushing a very small plastic lever up & over, but the little lever broke. I would not recommend this box at all. A child would have been able to pull the door open when locked with little effort.

When we got the product we loved the design, the key holders, the mobility of the racks. We changed the code and I tested it without fail it worked properly. I then about creating labels and setting up keys, which again was super easy.No to the bad part which rendered the whole device a paper weight. I went to go retrieve a key after about 3 weeks and it wouldn’t unlock with my new code or the original code.I set out to brute force the lock and I went through the entire 1000 combinations twice in case I missed one and the 900s three times because our code had started with a 9Then I looked for a way to get in to reset the code and while it’s a star but it has a raised bump in the middle which prevented me from being able to unscrew it preventing me from resetting the code. I know it’s a safety feature but it has rendered the box useles with my keys inside and this review a 1 star.Sad in Iowa
