The Foodcycler fits on our counter and is easy to fill and use. We run it at night, as the processing takes several hours, and it significantly reduces our food waste by 2/3. The sound is a slight buzzing but not really noticeable. We have not detected any odours at all.

This works very well, perfect for two people for the amount of waste to compost. Easy to use, and no odors.

This is an really great investment so we are not always having to haul organics to opposite end of our condo complex and it works perfectly. Very quiet and no smells. Very pleased with this purchase.

This thing is so heavy and big I don’t have the room to use it properly. If you have a small kitchen I wouldn’t get this unless you put it outside or in the living room. Overall it’s a good machine.

This composer is everything they say and more and for a two person household it is the perfect size . I just never realized how much food waste was generated by two people before. And then there is the added benefit of having the garden mulch. A definite good buy.😊 Gerri M

I tried a couple of the other off-brands of food recyclers and I can say now 100% they do not compare to the quality of this product. I highly recommend the food cycler brand. The other ones don't compare.

Really like this appliance. No complaints. Assembly instructions are very easy. It was packed beautifully. I have used this twice and both times it met the advertised expectations. We have been juicing our own oranges and I was unhappy that I had to throw out all the peels because we live in a condominium and I don’t have a garden just raised beds on my deck. I couldn’t do standard composting. It is hard to drag up bags of compost from our local box store, then I have the plastic bags to dispose of. This appliance does not make any noise nor does it smell. I will recommend it to others.

This is one of the best purchases I have made for our home. I now have compost for my fruits, flowers & vegetables that grow in my little garden. I don’t have to spend money on fertilisers.

We live in an apartment in Manhattan and have recently been strong-armed into composting. Unfortunately, the city's infrastructure isn't quite ready for the new laws...collection is only once a week and there's a woefully short supply of bins. As I went out into the rain to our building's bin with a dripping, gloopy bucket of compost that included a now-useless, half-dissolved compost bag and encountered a bin that was already overflowing with rancid food, I decided I was going to play the game differently. We have two adults and a kid and prepare fresh meals everyday. The Eco 3 has been perfect for us so far. The cannister is attractive enough to sit on the counter until it's ready to be processed. Its capacity is about two (normal) days' worth of scraps, it runs quietly enough that we can't hear it from the next room, and the magic of opening it up after it has run is still a delight. It really does process everything we've thrown at it perfectly. A full (broken down) chicken carcass was no issue. Avocado and Mango pits were dust the next morning. Rotten/wilted salad greens we'd found in the back of our produce drawer didn't create a rotten smell after they were processed. It's amazing. Some items to know before you buy:1) It uses energy. If your goal is the greenest possible solution and you aren't hooked up to green power, keep this in mind. It bothers me a bit, but since it uses about as much energy as a ceiling fan running all day I've decided to ensure those stay off to offset our footprint a bit.2) It emits humidity. Seems obvious enough, since that's the main way it's able to reduce the volume of scraps but we keep ours in a closet and have found we need to crack the closet door when we run it to avoid condensation on the closet walls.3) The size is appropriately small. I wouldn't want anything bigger because I love the small footprint, but bear in mind that there are sometimes "big days" when it can't handle everything. We're part of a CSA and some of the veggies come with all their trimmings. If we get a watermelon and go through it, that's a lot of material. When we have a dinner party with more than 6 or 7 people, food scraps can add up. When this happens, we've been able to deal with it by running it twice in a row, but I can imagine needing to compost some overflow the old-fashioned way after an especially large event. We're very happy with the purchase and would absolutely purchase again.

I'm a big fan of the FoodCycler Eco 3It is compact, quiet and really powerful. I've processed avocado pits, chicken bones and lighter fare, all of them processed down into a medium fine particles resembling dirt, except eggshells and the stringy insides of banana peels, they come out in small pieces (eggshells) but still white or stringy.Easily mixed into existing dirt at a ratio of 1 to 10, it feeds your plants or garden and enhances their growth. I've added this to houseplants like spider plants that seem much happier after a couple of days of the amended soil. The product itself is compact and the internal section that does the grinding is removable and can sit on the kitchen counter for easy filling, then just carry it using the convenient handle. This bucket hold 3.5L of waste and will reduce it down quite a bit... see attached images for an example of the before/after. You can choose to use this reduction in your garden or throw it away, taking up far less space in the trash or compost, and eliminating gross smells coming from the kitchen trash. I personally store it in a ziploc bag and scoop into it for mixing into dirt when my wife and I need to pot a new plant. She never has enough plants. It includes a package of charcoal pellets to pour into the filter on the back that you'll need to replace every once in awhile, the FoodCycler unit, the internal 3.5L bucket, and a lid for said bucket for use on the kitchen counter. There are 4 convenient lights on the top to check the status of the cycle. You can add to the cycle until the second light, then you need to wait for the cycle to complete. Each cycle is quiet... just a small whirr or hum in the background. I have this on the floor net to a china cabinet in the dining room. When we are in the room it is not noticeable over any other sounds but you can hear it if the room is super quiet. It's not annoying so I ignore it.The time given for processing is 4-9 hours... I've never timed it myself, I just start it after dinner or before bed and it's all done in the morning.I highly recommend this if it's in the budget. I think this will pay for itself over time by saving on fertilizer and reducing the frequency of changing trash bags since the food waste is so much smaller than before. The only recurring costs are electricity and charcoal pellets for the filter.
