One hinge set too low causing the lid to bind. Relocated hinge to be in proper alignment, now lid works OK.

This product was to hold glass microscope slides, but if you look at the #26 slot in the first picture, there is a small nail in it that would prevent the slide from going in. The second picture is a defect in the stain on the back of the slide box, the third picture is the unevenness of the stain on the front.Amazon has an excellent return policy, but I can’t help but think that with a little more quality assurance, it wouldn’t need to take back so many items.

Slides for geologic specimens are the main purpose of storage needs. Also etymological specimens and dye examples on organic specimens are in this box.

I purchased this as a Christmas gift for my 10 year old grandson to go with his microscope. It just arrived. I'm VERY disappointed. The "stained" finish on the top of the box is a mess. Looks like it was handled while wet. The inside looks like stain or paint was spilled in it. Hinges and fasteners are the cheapest junk. Definitely NOT worth the $22.99 price. I gave it one star only because of the numbered slots.
