We used this recently for a few projects, including a concrete pad and fencing. It is powerful enough to mix the concrete quickly and thoroughly, even in more significant concentrations. We used a 5-gallon bucket for the fence project. It really helped us move through the posts rapidly with a very thorough mix of our concrete. This has been a great mixer for us (it works with paint too, but make sure you have some space in the bucket...)

This is a medium duty Chinese made variable speed mud mixer. It can only be used with the included threaded end two-piece mixing paddle (23" long). It does NOT have a drill type key chuck allowing you to use other mixing paddles. The threaded mixing paddle shaft screws into the motor and the other end of the shaft screws into the mixer head. I like the comfort design of the double handle and the dial variable speed control that allows for 0 to 800 rpm, it also has a button that locks the trigger in the on position. The one I got has an out of balance (or crooked threaded) shaft so it wobbles when spinning, the higher the rpm the worse the wobble. The cord that supplies power to this is small gauge, probably 18 gauge wire (definitely not more than 16 gauge) and has only a two prong non-directional plug. It comes with an extra pair of motor brushes. The motor housing and handles are all plastic. It's ok for mixing plaster, drywall mud, tile mortar, single bags of concrete mix, and stirring paint in a 5 gal bucket. It's definitely not a heavy-duty tool and I was disappointed that it doesn't have a drill chuck that allows for use with better mixing paddles.

This is an awesome mixer for the price. I haven’t used it on anything super heavy yet but it mixes no shrink grout and plaster like a champ. I haven’t used it on epoxy yet but that’ stuff is easy.I don’t do a lot of grout work so this tool will probably last me a long time, I’m not sure how it would handle regular daily use.Overall it beats mixing by hand, and for under 100 Canadian pesos I’d say it’s pretty awesome value.

For the money, this tool does the job adequately well for mud, sand, cement, concrete, paint, and what have you?A practical approach and understanding is essential to ensure the machine is used within its safe limits on a regular 110V 15A circuit typically found in most households. The motor itself is rated for 2100W Max.With that said, yes, it's a good machine.Comes with a spare set of carbon brushes. The motor has a conveniently located rotary speed-control (1 to 6), a power ON/OFF switch, and ON-Lock switch. We'll need a 5-gallon bucket or something similar in width and height for a thorough mix. Anything bigger, one may have to move the mixer around for a consistent mix.Well-suited for the homeowner DIYer.

I have a nearly identical mixer from a well known Orange Colour power tool company. I'm not sure I'm allowed or can reference the brand but y'all know who I mean.Side by side, build is identical. Gearbox and smooth ramp up for speed is good. Under load it performs well.Exposed steel will definitely attract rust over time, meaning you will need to keep this tool clean after usage. The body plastic feels lighter than my pro unit, which leaves concerns of overall length of service. If for the DIY guy, this will do. Pros should stick to pro units. 3 stars

I have yet to deploy this mixer, but if it fails because I use it incorrectly, it is the fault that the instructions were so brief and badly translated so as to be useless. The first challenge was to attach the extension rod between the power head and the beater - it is not symmetrical, but there are identical threads at both ends. The instructions are completely silent on which end should attach to which - the only clue were the pictures in the advertisement - the picture on the instructions was even ambiguous! ANSWER The end of the shaft with the Hex shape attaches to the beater. There is also a little package of 2 parts included, but nothing to indicate what there were or where they are to be used - it turns out that they are "36 - Carbon Brush" but that was only discerned by curiously unscrewing a cap and finding that piece inside. An example of the unintelligible instructions is "ADD OIL ON IT of ten The drill is a speed working tool. The lubrication grease is volatilized easily so the grease in reduction case and bearing must often be kept clean and add or change it anytime needed." In the assembly explosion diagram there are 6 items described as Bearing, but nothing called reduction case. It is pretty difficult to follow such vague instructions. So far, I have plugged it in and it seems to work as intended. However, my confidence that I am using and maintaining it correctly is very low.

Everything is nice and even came with extra brushes. Only issue is the add and the tool both show it being 6 SPEED ADJUSTABLE. Only it isn't. Will not run at all on any other speed but the highest. Normally I wouldnt post things like this but that was the entire reason for purchase and can't seem to find a way to contact anyone with this particular issue
