Fantastic. Absolutely 5150 from stem to stern. Had to do a little tweaking on the setup, but otherwise it’s been amazing. Currently my guitar of choice, and I don’t see anything dethroning it anytime soon.(Note it comes with a gig bag, I bought a hard shell for mine)

When you play this, the tone will make your mind up. Incredible. I’ve been playing cheap kiddy guitars, while this rock monster has been sitting waiting. Took a few sessions to stay in tune, but it’s solid as can be! LOVE this guitar. I have 3 strats, a les paul, an epiphone casino, a jazzmaster, several acoustics and I would sell them all to keep this one! Real pickup, real frets, real character. Awesome!

First impression was this guitar felt cheap. The neck is a bit gritty. But it didn't take very long to get used to it, and within just a few days I found it among my better playing guitars. I have put the tremolo to the test and it keeps in tune. I don't have much to say about the D-tuna since I don't use it. The pickup is hot and sounds great. The neck and frets are awesome (other than the fake finish) It's the one guitar I won't mind it gets banged up. At the under $1k price, it's worth it. I expected to maybe return it, but... it's a keeper!

Always have loved Van Halen. I have played for over twenty years and always I swore off on buying another signature guitar after I purchased my ZW model because it's borderline poser-ish. But when this line came out that was based on the Frankie replica, they immediately struck my interest. It's a replica/ but to the untrained eye it just looks like a relic'd guitar, which I love. Plus, it's the EVH brand/ so you know it'll be a well made product. My guitar arrived three days early and outside of tuning it up, was ready to play out of the box. The action fits very playable. I was very happy about that because often enough these mass manufactured guitars just sit on a shelf in a warehouse someplace collecting dust. The guitar is set up with a 9-42 string gauge. The guitar sounds perfect and has a crisp unplugged volume as well. It is made from basswood and is very light. The neck is unfinished and feels solid. This is a MIM product, so, if being made in Mexico and not America is a problem, you may want to buy the more expensive version that's manufactured in California. This has only been my experience. Yours may differ from mine- but I'm very happy with my purchase and only regret not buying the guitar sooner. I encourage anyone interested in the style and brand will be happy with their purchase. Reviews online say the case that comes with the guitar is cheap. I was pleased with what came with the guitar. It is not a touring bag- but the case that comes with will certainly suffice as a travel bag for day trips and or general storage of the guitar. Finally, Adorama did a great job shipping the guitar and having it packaged in a safe manner. I am more than happy with this experience.

Guitar came horribly set up. Could not turn the fine tuners. Head stock tuners were all lose. Action was a mile high. But, after a set up, tightening the tuners, greasing the fine tuners. She plays like a Gem! It truly is a shame a guitar at this price point doesn't have better QC. But, if you know a thing or two about guitar set ups. This guitar is the best in its class.

I bought this guitar after owning a Frankie striped version for a couple years. Neck is awesome and sounds and plays just as good as my Frankie. The only issue is when pushing down on the Floyd for a dive bomb, it’s sticky and I can hear when it releases from the body. I tried cleaning underneath to make sure there wasn’t something on the paint causing it. Can’t feel anything sticky with my fingers so my only thought is that it’s the way it is mounted? It looks like it sits flat on the body like my Frankie. Still love it and would buy again. If anyone has any ideas on how to fix it, I’d be forever grateful.
