Have an 05 colorado and while researching I found that the oem does not have the screen retainer. I guess over time (truck is 24 years old) the screens can be prone to falling off the solinoid. Just got this one as a precaution and it works just fine

My 04’ Chevy Colorado was throwing a code on occasion or stumbling. Its held on by only one bolt, that holds it into the side of the Chevy block. No more codes and the old one was still in good State and repair, but the sludge around the screens was plugged up on one of three areas. Just have to change your oil more often and older engines will naturally gets legend them so you’ll have to use a engine flush on occasion and still throws cold after engine flush, then pull the unit out again and clean it as a screens may get plugged.

I have had this in my 06 trailblazer 4.2 for 7 months now and it hasn't gone out or defected. Mesh quality is good and it never sends wrong info to the ECM. Good product.

UPDATE .👎. A FEW MONTHS LATER... LOOSE FITTING ON VVT .. TWISTING BY TOUCH .. REAL GARBAGE .. NOT WORTH BUYING... NOW I WILL BUY THE OEM GM PART

I've had issues with my 02 TB for quite a while now and not the first buying this part. But it arrived the next day as stated. Installed part in 20 to 30 min. And for now it's working properly.
