I made it a bit harder when I took out the screw, not knowing how many pieces would fall out if you didn't put pressure on the area where the prongs are held in place. As it was, I ended up with 5 pieces that I had to figure out how they went together. Don't be me. I used a clamp I had around here. I used a 3.5inch Small Heavy Duty Clips for Crafts. It was small enough not to get in the way when you screwed the wires down and held everything together with plenty of room to work on attaching the wires. Just remember when you open the housing to get your fingers on the area that houses the works. Clamping it frees up both hands for the wires.Once I put everything back in place it was a 10 minute job to put the wires on the terminals and the housing back together. I'm happy to have my vibrating back massager back in operation. The machine is at least 50 years old and a new one runs well over $100.

I nipped the perfectly good ends off of several of my appliances that, due to their precast configuration, basically caused the other wall outlet plug to become unusable. Frustrating. So, I installed these instead. The process couldn't have been easier. Although, since I have an electronics engineering background (and thus, have learned many tricks over the years), I decided to add one extra step to the process, to ensure a longer-lasting job. After stripping and securing the cable wires to their respective screw mounts, I filled the entire interior, including up the cord shaft, with a special flexible resin that I use on PCBs, to hold everything in place far better than if I had not done this. Any time a plug (or any electrical connection, for that matter) is placed under expected stresses (such as pulling it in or out of the wall outlet), then I highly recommend doing this, as it permanently bonds the new plug end, to the internal wires and wire sheathing. Once you then close both sides of the new plug end together and screw it tight, you merely wipe away the squeezed-out residue and viola - a factory-like job. The rotatable cable ends, by the way, adjust back and forth smoothly and confidently. Recommended.

Seems like my outlets are often right behind furniture and using the traditional plugs means the furniture must sit out from the wall further than I'd like. As long as you are comfortable replacing your plug (minor electrical work), these are an excellent choice. Very easy to replace and the plug works great afterwards.

Needed to replace a couple plugs on Christmas light strings. These worked well and were easy to install.

VERDICTRecommendedWHYThese are fine plugs for lamp cords - low wattage (power). The fact that they fold/rotate is great if you need to plug a lamp in behind a sofa or bed. However, because these do not seem UL listed, I would not recommend them for high power uses.

...plugs and cords on older lamps. They do become brittle with age. I have used these to make shorter extension cords, and they work fine.
