Higher Reliability
Built-in industrial LTE Mini PCIe to USB adapter. It adopts industrial electric circuit design, DC-DC power chip and two external tantalum capacitors to make sure the module can always be working fine and never offline even under severe environment.
Working Principle
The interface definition of Mini PCIe is USB signal and 3.6V, the input voltage 5V by USB will be converted into 3.6V via DC-DC power chip to power on module and UIM/SIM card.

Very happy about product performance, works great on Bell Mobility network, LTE Band 2 "manually locked" works great with PFsense Firewall.

The usb item arrived dead not working put everything together plugged it in and there was no sign of life. Took it back apart and self diagnosed the device. Turns out I had one bad capacitor. So I unsoldered it replaced it with a good one with the same voltage capability and the unit came back to life. The item works great but leaving a one star because I had to fix something that was supposed to of been new.

As others have said, the external sim slot doesn't work with the included EC25G, I suspect its miswired internally. The EC25G card does have an onboard sim slot, which does work, but requires taking the entire thing apart to use. Also, the included EC25G card shipped with strange beta firmware on it and required reflashing. I'd avoid this vendor.

Just purchased and there is a QuickStart guide but no in-depth information on how to use it. I got it working for data but can’t seem to get SMS to work and I really need that. Unless their support can get back with me and tell me how to make it work then this one is going to have to go back. :-(

Reviewers mentioning it does not power on.... is likely due to wrong cable.only USB-A to USB-C cables work (included in package).USB C-C cables do not, likely due to missing CC ID resistors.With a working cable, the blue LED starts to blink 5-10s after plugging in, even to USB charger (so LED is not driver dependant).Linux works out of the box with Manjaro. I purchased for use with a Sierra MC7700 modem. I tried 2, neither powered on or were recognized by the computer. Purchased a second Sierra MC7700, still no luck. Manufacturer recommended a different brand of modem, but I could not find that. The ad shows that MC7700 modem is what it typically purchased for this. The adapter appears to be of very high quality, wish it would work for me. I'd love to hear if anyone else had success with the adapter combined with the MC7700, as this would be perfect for my application if it worked.

The device would not power on, i tried different usb cables, none worked. There are no instructions and nothing on the manufacturer website so I was forced to return it.

I connected everything and used two known good working SIMs. I can connect to the USB port and communicate with the Modem. However, I am getting a +CME ERROR: 10 when looking for the SIM. I have swapped both SIMs into another working modem and they worked fine.

Inadequate power for the 3.6v circuit; like all of these they are not properly tested with miniPCIe cards.Thr reviewer who got his working with a 4g LTE card, must be a magician, or he has used a seperate 3.6v supply.Also looks like the Tantalum capacitors are only fitted to the NGFF boards and not the MiniPCIe boards which have empty capacitor solder pads on underside of the PCB.

The product description is very misleading. This is not a sim-ready adapter, it is only the shell for a module.Should have just bought the Huawei dongle and been done with it.
