This is achieved by the use of four brushes and advanced electromagnetic computer modeling and design. This reversible motor can be used at voltages ranging from 12V to 36V (the RPM is proportional to the voltage.) At 24 Volts, it has a no-load speed of 6900 RPM. Peak short-term power output is 1740 Watts (2.3 horsepower). Peak efficiency of 82% is reached while drawing 28 Amps at 6300 RPM. The power output at 28 Amps is 560 Watts (0.75 horsepower). These motors are made from two sturdy aluminum castings and a seamless body. The F30-150 motor is 3.1 inches in diameter and 4.0 inches long. The 1/2-inch diameter shaft is two inches long, and it rides in two high-quality ball bearings. There is a short 3/8-inch diameter shaft on the rear of the motor for mounting an optical encoder. The heavy-gauge 12 AWG motor leads are 13 inches long. The motor weighs 4.7 pounds, and it is finished in a high-quality black powder-coat paint. So far so,good. I bought this to convert a gas lawn edger to an electric battery operated unit and I am still working on it but I feel I can write a helpful review. First for more information go to the manufacturers website. I operated this unit at 12v, 24v, and 36v. I ran 12v batteries in parallel and so far my only problem has been finding the exact style switch I want in 36v. I ended up using a 125v switch from the hardware store. I mounted this using (4) 8-32 screws in the motor plate and connected a pulley to drive a belt. I couldn't find a pully that's 1/2 inch bore with a key way. I'm still looking but I'm not sure why it has a key way. This motor is really powerful, I think I could have bought a cheaper model instead but it's too late. The motor feels really high quality and just an fyi the wires are aluminum not copper.
