This tiny drum is just right for my students, and you pretty much can't help but make beautiful tones with it, whether you are playing a song or just tapping it randomly. It's packaged very well and comes with a pretty little cloth bag as well.

This is a cute little steel drum. Im not sure why it's marketed as "rain drum for outdoors." says its waterproof, so I guess you can leave it outside. Maybe for an outdoor zen garden. I got this for a zen room I have in my house. Its more for decoration than actually playing. Im not a musician, but the scale of the notes doesn't sound smooth. There is a page in the "song book" that is supposed to explain the notes, but it makes no sense. By my ear it goes down in scale (lowest note to highest) 1, 3, 2, 5, 6, i. Which seems weirdly random. The song book also has a couple songs, I am not familiar with any of them. It comes with a cute little carrying bag and a little mallet. Its cute and fun, but don't expect high fidelity.

My wife wanted some rain chimes to go along with all of her wind chimes, so I thought I would get her these. Excellent choice. This tiny rain drum is well made out of good quality materials. Fit and finish are excellent. Comes in a nice drawstring bag with a small mallet for making music with it. Works well. Highly recommend. 5 stars.

I was curious as to how these would sound and play. It's interesting and has a charm to the sound, though it's hard to get pure notes. It looks nice and has a great decorated carry bag. It's good quality and sturdy.Notes tend to cause the others to also resonate unless you hit at just the right place (holding drum in other hand helps quiet the other notes). I assume this is common to all steel drums since there's not much you can change about the design. There is some technique in playing with the drum stick. It could be useful as a meditative instrument, very simple and small. I'm not sure how well it would work int he rain given how hard it must be struck, and whether it's really sealed from water and rusting inside (bottom rubber plug comes out to allow drainage).
