Absolutely love this sharpener! Keeps all my knives shaving sharp in the field! Works well, is easy to use, and is not too thick. Use the leather sheath as a strop when you get done.

Id highly recommend this for a bug out bag as its super light weight and if you know what you're doing its an excellent tool fot sharpening a VG 10 or cpn 3v steel blade's. Like falkniven or cold steel blades. This is a smooth whetstone. Very tough and fast sharpening any super steel blade. The material it's made of are high quality. Both sides are a bit rough at first but smoother as you use it more. This stone doesn't need oil or water. Just keep it clean and wipe off any metal shavings with a paper or moist wipe. Excellent for a bug out bag and sharpening high quality knives. This larger stone appears to be more area to grab and in case you're not used to using a whetstone like the dc4 wear leather or kevlar cut resistant gloves. Great product and the leather package is high quality in appearance. And the material is also high quality. Great product!! Highly recommend!!

This is my second Fallkniven DC4. I still have the first one, its just getting a bit worn. This may be my favorite pocket sharpening stone. I mainly use the diamond side; it find it produces a decent working edge, and does so rather quickly, with most steels. I use the ceramic side to clean up burrs.

I own three of these now. Great for putting a functional edge on a blade in the field. Easy enough to use that I have taught children how to touch up edges with it. Good for knives and some axes, but not ideal for a full tool restoration, the stropping surface is well-conceived, but too short to help you get your knives razor sharp with. You will want to supplement this with a full-sized strop for home or the shop.

The compact size is right on the sweet spot of being both very useable and packable, I thought putting a working edge on a dulled s35vn knife would be a headache but the grit on the stone (non diamond) side made the job easier than I thought. Achieved a hair shaving edge with it, using the stone like an axe puck, circular motion along the edge. Money well spent on this sharpening stone.

I have been using the DC4 & DC3 pocket sharpeners for years and they always perform great. The combination they use on the diamond and ceramic sides, in my experiences using in the field are right on the mark. I’ll continue using these as field sharpeners, which is what they are. I do use them most of the time at home or base camp as main stones simply because I have been using them so long that it’s a muscle memory kinda thing. As far as Quality Control issues I have heard and seen some people say are poor, well you’re always going to find people out there that believe in a pessimistic view and approach to everything. That said, sure in a perfect world where perfection rules. This isn’t a perfect world and if you need your sharpening tools to be perfect, then you probably need to learn how to sharpen edged blades and tools, cause ultimately you are the one in charge of the stone. The operator during the sharpening process should be the master of the art. It’s a great tool to bring a keen edge on a knife and that’s what you get. The rest is up to you and your experience and technique on sharpening. Exactly like anything thing else you want to do and become more than proficient at and with.5 Stars all day and twice on Sunday for these little sharpeners. 👍🇺🇸🇺🇸

Indubbiamente di ottima fattura e di buona durata.Non vedo errori o difetti di sorta (a parte il prezzo, che comunque è legato alla qualità).Il sistema di affilatura è piuttosto semplice e pratico anche a persone non completamente in grado di affilare una lama mediante una pietra.Unici difetti:- dimensioni ridotte, che prevede attenzione a non tagliarsi durante le operazioni di affilatura- difficile tenere un angolo corretto, per tale motivo consiglio la tecnica del pennarello descritta nelle istruzioni.
