Good product and quality, just was looking for something that got a little warmer than the one I already have. Has a plastic base with cover, which is much better than the soft base.

Animals loved it last year. I had bought 3. Tested them this year and not one of them will work. Contacted manufacturer and submitted for for reimbursement. Haven't heard a thing back not even an email saying g they re lived it. Very disappointed!

I am very happy with this mat. My dog loves it. I got it in 2019 and works perfectly. I got second one in 2020 for another area of the house and it is also working perfectly.I am very happy with this product. :)

This keeps my cat homes warm in the winter along with a radiant coop heater. I like that it doesn’t require pressure to have the heat on and it doesn’t get hot enough to cause any burns. My feral cat slept cozy all winter on this and in the spring it was easy to wipe off and store until fall - I ordered another for my second shelter and I’m happy with these! They are high quality and I don’t have to worry about them short circuiting or burning

It has been working very reliably for over a year, now and still going. I placed it onto a small sheet of plywood and raised it a few inches off the ground to keep it clean and dry. It is low wattage and absolutely no fire hazard at all. It gets just sort of lukewarm and not too hot for the animals. My wife made something like a pillowcase for it. She puts it into the washer from time to time. My cats enjoy it, and they really are keeping their bellies nice and warm.

Good Product - we had one before and it lasted a very long time. We needed another one this year and ended up ordering one more for our cats. They love it during the cold snaps.

My bird-dog is very high energy & destructive. I bolted this to the floor of his Igloo style dog house, which also has cedar chips for warmth. He definitely seems yo use his house more when he is outside now. I tested this myself before installing, it heats up when the dog lays on it, but not too much for comfort. seems sturdy & well designed.

Seems like a good heat pad. Been a life saver for a stray cat we look after.Higher wattage than others on the market and feels warm to the touch. Sometimes difficult to know if the others on the market are even working sometimes and I have two ofthose. The red led is connected to the thermostat and is only on while the unit is heating to it’s specified temperature, then it goes off.I made the mistake of thinking it faulty as the red light kept going out. Mainly because there is nowhere in the description or instructions that gives you this information. It just says, when the light is on, it’s working. They need to change this. So, I ended up asking for a replacement.I wasn’t happy about the speed of replacing it. The first one came Purolator, the replacement by Canada Post. Why?Time will tell if the pad is durable.Instructions say to be used on a concrete floor and not to use an extension cord. They have to say this, but reality is that you can use a cord and as long as the floor is flat and solid, it’s fine.

I have a smaller older one that still works but needed a bigger one for my aging doberman. The old one has a metal coil wrapped around the electric cord to dissuade chewing; this one has an apparently tasty rubber coating so it's been a challenge protecting the cord and dog from chewing and electrocution.Otherwise it's a wonderful product that does its job 100%Not too hot so that the dog gets parched overnight but warm enough so that when she gets out if her crate in the morning she is ready to go; the achey stiffness is history. It is comfortable enough without a blanket on top apparently. I've checked for hot spots on the dog and the pad and there haven't been any so far. The old one is at least 6 years old and still works geat. I use it from about October to April.

This review is long and unedited, mostly a comparison between the Farm Innovators and K&H heated beds.I have a cat house on the porch that is directly open to the environment, and the temperature is around -10 to 0C in the winters here, but can drop to -20C on some days. I've had the FI HM-100L mat for about week now.I also have the large 60Watts and medium 40Watts K&H heated lectro-soft bed (uses foam and air, rather than a plastic slab). The large K&H lectro-kennel (plastic slab mat) is 80Watts.K&H heated beds:All K&H heated beds work in the same way. They all supposedly have two thermostats; one will keep the bed a few degrees above ambient temperature when not in use, and the other thermostat will heat it up to 37C when something actually sits on it, which takes around 15-20 minutes. However, the only part of the bed that actually heats up is the part directly under the object sitting on it. I've even tested this indoors on multiple areas of the bed, and the part under the object heats to 37 while the rest of the bed sits at 20C (room temp). Outside at 0C, i've measured areas 1-2 inches around the cats sleeping on the bed at 4C, and the temperature under them is around 37C. Even within a couple inches of the object, the bed won't be heated above the ambient temperature. I wonder if really what this means is they use a weak heater to save on electricity, and it is only strong enough to heat up something directly on top of it.The problem is this is not so great for cold weather, because if the animals move around, it will take another 15 minutes to heat up again underneath them. Also, it is difficult to tell if the bed is even working, and you need to take it inside and put an object that doesnt produce its own heat on it to test it.I now use this large bed on top of the cat house, so they can lounge on there and remain warm rather than having to be cooped up in the box all day. This review is critical, but really it is still a good bed, just not as good as the farm innovators bed for cold weather.Farm Innovators Mats:The good thing about the Farm Innovators mat is that it heats the entire mat up to 37C in all areas, regardless of whether something is on it or not. Indoors the temperature of the mat is 37C everywhere. Outside at 0C with nothing on top of it, the cover of the mat sits at around 20C, while between the cover and the plastic it is around 30C. When an animal sits on it, the area underneath will reach 37C very quickly. This mat you can feel immediately whether it is actually working. As far as the bed being hard, with provided the bed cover on it, it's pretty soft. The K&H lectro-soft bed is softer of course, but really it's just a thin air-foam cushion, so when they sit on it, it will depress down to the flat hard floor underneath it, so there's not too much of a difference as far as i am concerned. The good thing really is that the entire area around the animal is being heated, and the air is being warmed up as well. Directly under them will be 37C and all around them will be 20C, so it should be more comfortable for them to move around and stretch out. Also the bed is very easy to test for functionality. It has a red indicator light when it is on, and is always quite warm to the touch, even at -10C.Summary:+ Both the K&H and Farm Innovators mats heat up to 37C, although the K&H mat should be used for temperatures above 0C due to its seemingly weaker heater.+ The FI mat is better for colder weather because it heats the entire mat to 37C regardless of whether an animal is on it, but uses more electricity and is potentially a harder surface (i dont think cats care, but a heavy dog might).

Its been a cold winter so I knew we needed this for our outdoor cats. They love to sit up off the ground, so I placed it on top of an old table and built a frame around it for the cats. I call it their hot box. It is a bit hard, but keeps a constant warm temp without being too hot. The cats are in it often when they want to stay warm. I'll never go through the winter again without this item for my little guys. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because it came with a corner chipped out of the plastic. I didn't' return it because I did not want to be delayed in what I was doing, and the chip does not appear to affect function. This is the 2nd item from amazon in the last two months that has been damaged. Not happy with the delivery service Amazon is using.
