Safe to say this is my favorite utility knife on the market. I owned about a dozen different brands and this one has a pretty good advantage over the others. Good feel, light weight but durable, also like the ease of the flip out blade. Some models seem like they have child proof mechanisms for opening and closing but when you are on a job those are seconds wasted having to use 2 hands to open a knife.

I carry this everyday and I can 100% tell you its the great option around. Easy to switch blades (plus a slot to store an extra blade), you have a philips and flat head, and bottle opener. The pocket clip is clean and simple and works, not crazy jean ripping design. And the button lock is so fun to flick open and close. I'd give this knife a 6/5 if i could but I can't. When it comes to everyday tasks, this knife will not fail you so try it out.

Really solid construction. Easily flips open and closes with one hand. The 1/4" drive works great too. Holds a spare blade securely so you are neve4 without a razor-sharp cutting tool. Even includes a bottle opener for those thrist emergencies. This will probably be your favorite EDC knife. A wire stripper is also included. Blades change easily yet stay in place securely. Hats-off, Milwaukee!

So, just got his knife today and starting to do some of my own testing. Overall I am impressed. A few years ago I realized that a folding utility knife is better than spending a lot of time sharpening and then being disappointed in the results. This tool has many handy features that makes it a leader in its class. The only down side that I can see is that the pocket clip leaves a lot to be desired. It just does not function smoothly as my other knives. I understand that there is an aftermarket upgrade, so that will be considered for me to add soon. This knife has quality components that will prove to be durable. A bit pricey in today's world of all knives being reduced in price. Won't be long before we see knock-offs for five bucks on eBay. Millwaukee should consider making this knife in a titanium model $$$.

Why I Bought This? After 20+ years of using the same utility knife, the classic Stanley Fixed Blade Utility Knife, I decided it was time for a new toy. Besides, my friend came over to my house to help with some dry wall work. I saw him use a similar knife as the Milwaukee. I saw the utility in having a folder over a fixed blade. Though the Stanley is a good knife, there are some short-comings. For example, you need a second tool (a screwdriver) to open the shell and access the spare blade in order to replace blades. It lacks a belt clip. Furthermore, it is mostly a single-use knife. There are still plusses to the Stanley, such as putting out only enough blade as needed. How I DecidedI read a bunch of reviews on the Internet on utility knives. By far, most people prefer and recommend the Milwaukee Fastback 6-in-1.Having several folders (for personal carry), I am familiar with how to quickly extract a knife from my pocket and flick open the blade. The Fastback operates in a similar fashion. Why's It Called 6-in-1?I'm not sure why this is a 6-in-1 knife, when I can really count just 4 uses:--Cutter--Screwdriver (comes with a bit)--Wire stripper--Bottle openerI suppose if you count the lanyard and pocket clip, then it can be called a 6-in-1. The way to use the wirestripper is not as depicted on most websites, with the knife fully open. It's far easier to fold the knife back towards the closed position until the wire is under the blade and pressed against the plastic spine of the knife's body. Then, apply some pressure and cut around the insulation. This way prevents fracturing or cutting the wire itself. I can imagine it being useful when you're on the ground, working on an electrical outlet. On a ladder, working in a ceiling fixture? Get a wire stripper. It's faster and easier. The screwdriver works great, too, as a standalone driver. The bottle opener works in a pinch though I personally would not want to drink work dust and grime that gets on the lip of the bottle.SizeSome people may think this knife is a little on the big side, in terms of length, width, and height. I have folders that are smaller than this knife. You probably would not want to carry this in your pocket all day long, though in a toolbelt would be fine.Extra Blade HolderI did not get an extra blade with this knife. No Tools Required to Replace Blades! As mentioned earlier, no tools are required to replace blades. It is easy to access the replacement blade. The replacement blade is secured from accidentally falling out or cutting you.The way the main cutting blade is secured, it is unlikely to go flying when you flick open the knife. It will stay in place when you are doing heavy cutting. One of the "dangers" of using a knife is the potential of the folder to bend backwards under heavy loads, injuring the user. This knife is built solid and feels solid, so the likelihood of this happening is low. Changing this blade requires only your fingers to wiggle it out a certain way. I like tool-less changes, if you cannot tell.Replacement BladesGet the genuine replacement blades, rather than the generic ones. There are always sellers looking to make a quick buck, at the risk of compromising your safety. Given that you will use this knife for anything related to home improvement projects, the last thing you want is the blade falling apart, splintering, or losing its edge quicker than the genuine replacement blades.OverallI recommend this knife for its many uses, solid construction, thoughtful layout, and ergonomic construction.

I have been searching for a folding box cutter with screwdriver for years. Finally found one that fits the bill. I have tried other imported tools but they were bulky, did not have positive retention of the bits and overall did not work for me. This Milwaukee Fastback opens fast, has positive retention on the bit and the fold out bit drive locks with a liner lock for safe use. Great design and it's just the right size!Note: I took off the wire belt clip as I always just throw in my pocket. If you replace the hold-down screw and tighten fully it will interfere with the fold out blade. I put some locktite on the screw and only threaded part way in. Purely esthetics, you could run it without the screw should you prefer to remove the clip.

Loving this utility knife so far. No complaints. Feels good in hand. The flip mechanism is great for one hand operation. The driver at the back is a bonus.

All Milwaukee Fastback series knives are pretty great. This one whips open and closed while holding the locking button like any other in the series which is wonderful. The screw driver tool is great to have readily access able (faster than a multitool). Pulling out the bit is a little difficult at times. The "extra blade storage" is for one blade and is very difficult to get into the knife and out of the knife. Its not even worth using / having. The Bottle opener is just dumb. Its right at the top of the knife when is closed in your pocket so your hand can brush over it and hit the pointed sharp spots. Even when using it to open bottles it doesnt work well. This isnt a deal breaker tho. The back of your hand doesnt rub against it much more than any other pocket knife.Better than the regular Fastback because of the screw driver feature. If you go through blade often and cant have a package of them next to you there is a Fastback with 5 blade storage but no other features. This one is overall more useful than the other two series I have.
