Not sure what the 1 star review is about, but this neck was better than I hoped for. For some reason, Fender’s replacement necks seem to have a more consistent grain pattern than those found in store-bought instruments. This one arrived with a nice, slightly aged tint (only noticeable compared to the super white neck it replaced) and no ugly knots or other weird patterns. Binding is perfect and the frets level and smooth. Installation would have been super easy, except that I decided to replace the stock nut with a black Tusq XL, which added a little bit of time and effort, but not the neck’s fault.Note that the neck arrived with no tension in the truss rod. Be careful stringing up the first time to not put too much stress on the neck. Add a couple strings, tune them to pitch, then check the tension and adjust. Repeat as needed.

Buyer Beware! I purchased the 70s Style jazz bass neck in Sept 22. On 1/9/23, I took the neck and bass to which it was attached to a local, highly experienced luthier for a simple truss rod adjustment. While attempting to adjust the truss rod, the truss rod bolt snapped and broke off rendering completely useless. Gear Nuts decided to stand by their 30 day return policy and I'm out $449.00. I have contacted Fender to see if will do anything for me. If you buy one of these necks, good luck!

I bought this neck for a project of building a 70’s styled Jazz Bass in a color not available from Fender. This was the second neck I bought. I tried to go with a cheaper Chinese fauxnder first and it didn’t work out. Glad I spent the extra money for the genuine replacement. Seller had it to me quickly.

In the end the price is always going to be up to you weather you want this or not. what you need to know is you will need to cut the nut slots for your strings but they do have pre-cut lines when the cut will go . outside of that if you using a fender body as well your not going to have really any problems fitting . just make sure to take your time and look at the neck screw to make sure they are all going into the neck right . I had a problem with one not going in and it was leaving the neck up a bit. but it was because I was in a hurry . So once I slowed down and went back I had no more Problems

I built a custom P-bass with this jazz neck. It looks great. It plays great. If you go with the fender vintage tuners, be careful installing them. If you’ve never done it, watch a few YouTube videos before attempting this so you don’t damage the neck. My only gripe is that they did not drill a pilot hole for the string tree. It’s not rocket science, so not a big deal. All and all, I love it.
