Everything was as described. Overall satisfied with the kit. BUT the seriously sharp edges on the ball lock connector will cut you. That needs to be addressed by their QC dept.

I bought this as part of a move from canned/bottled "fizzy" water to making it DIY at home. There are several of these carbonation cap options out there, and I did my best to pick the one I thought I'd have the most success with. Happy to say that's the case with this one. It comes with extra gaskets and other parts, but I haven't needed them yet. I have added a little mineral oil to potential friction areas a couple times, just as a precaution.

Edit: The seller reached out to me and replaced the failed parts. All is good now. Great seller.

This kit of parts from Ferroday is intended to connect a tank of compressed CO2 to Cornelius kegs or PET soda bottles in order to carbonate beer and other beverages. The thick-walled red tubing appears to be PVC but it’s quite stiff. It’s 5-ft in length which is just right for my requirements. Two stainless steel 5/16 barb to ¼” flared fittings are provided to make connections at each end of the tube. The tubing was a good tight fit onto these barb fittings and screw hose clamps are provided to secure the connections. At one end, I connected the supplied gas ball-lock connector and at the other end, I made a connection to a Ferroday tank regulator installed on a 5lb tank of CO2. The regulator already had a 3/16” barb fitted, so I didn’t need the second one in the kit. Everything went together well although the hose clamps had 6-mm nuts that slipped in my ¼” socket wrench – I had to use a screwdriver to tighten these clamps. I pressurized a keg to 30psig with no problems and couldn’t detect any leaks. Finally, a soda bottle ball-lock connector is provided in this kit to enable drink carbonation in a bottle. This is made from stainless steel and is of high quality. I’ve used similar devices before and, unlike the plastic ones, the o-ring seal is not very well retained and can slip into the mouth of the bottle ruining the seal if overtightened. Slight tightening is all that’s required to get a good seal. This connector also has a barb that extends into a bottle below the connector to enable a carbonation stone to be fitted to speed up the carbonation process. For the price, this is a good kit to connect a tank of CO2 to kegs or PET soda bottles.
