The attachment looks like molded plasticky stuff, but feels solid and seems to works pretty well with the guide rail. I wrote this review since I thought I should mention one important thing that is not obvious until you actually buy this and read the manual.The manual for the Jigsaw and the sheet that comes with this attachment clearly mention that Festool does not recommend cutting stock more than 20mm thick when using the Trion Jigsaws with a guide rail using this attachment. Searching around on the web it seems like you can do cuts thicker than that (I read 40mm somewhere) without problems if the wood grain etc. doesn't cause problems keeping the blade straight.

If you have a this lets you use it with any of the Festool Guide Rails and accessories. Great if you already bought into those, otherwise useless. Cheap and works very well.BTW you can not use any angle on the saw except straight (90°). An excellent value if you use the and the accessories, a bunch of accessories an many lengths of rail but it gets pricy quick.
