So I own many Fishman pickups in the 8 string and 7 string sets, 2 Tosins with both layouts, 1 Stephen Carpenter, and a Modern as well. I also own some Duncan’s and Lace’s in the 6’s as well and I still think I prefer these.An I just love these Tosins, they give you so much clarity across the strings, great articulation, and are just incredibly quiet. Yes they will suit metal well, but I am also getting those Telecaster and Stratocaster tones back in my 8’s which is such a nostalgic feeling. At the flip of a switch or a pop of a pot you get a completely different sound.I can go from solo shreds, to dirty bass riffs, back to crystaline cleans with minimal effort. I don’t really even need to touch my amp, my volume, tone, and strike are enough to get my there.If you want alot of tonal differentiation out of your pickup this is the one for you.
