Does am awesome job keeping your rod. I've taken it on multiple wading trips and haven't had any issue at all.

You have to have a use for it but this is compatible for the summit 2.0. I attach my halved rod to it when hiking. It’s not exactly easy to get to it on the bottom of the sling but it also stays out of the way when accessing your sling pockets when slung forward.Great way to pack in with a rod without having to tube/sock it and remove your reel.

Gave as a Christmas gift to my son in law. He said it’s perfect and works well!

Great product and holds almost any type of rod. Only issue is when im knee deep in the water and have to adjust my belt or get into my bag on the belt, the inside clip of the pole holder that attaches to my belt comes undone and the holder and my rod want to fall in the water. I have to stop and attempt to re-attach the clip and the clip is behind the holder and really hard to re-attach especially with a rod In it. Maybe design the next generation with a more robust belt clip or just make it so you have to insert the belt through a permanent sleve or something.

Very easy to install. Stays on securely. I had seen reviews before stating they lost a rod because of this but i believe they didn’t use it correctly. The two straps on the back would hold it alone for a while if the button did pop off.I love this! It’s perfect when walking and not wanting to hold my rod. Also perfect for certain situations like untangling, tying on new flys, or handling fish. 10/10

Got the product, very nice quality, looks great. Sadly I won't be able to use it - The Fishpond "Summit Sling" I have is not compatible with the Fishpond "Quikshot Rod Holder 2.0".Hmmm..... Sounds like 2 different teams designing products without much collaboration there....Still gave it a nice rating because if you have the exact type of 4-way molded tab on your pack it would be very nice for you I'm sure.Wish I got that 4-way tab on the Summit Sling.... didn't even think about looking at the tabs I had before ordering because I just expected Fishpond to work with Fishpond... Oh well.Product doesn't work with all Fishpond gear... so beware.

The idea is ausome. Hold a rod while walking in to and from a vehicle. I slipped on rocks and dropped a rod(chipped the finish). You really need open hands while on a trail. The bad part is the lack of true attachment to a pack, sling, or belt. They need to design a fitting. Like a Chicago screw. In order to permanently attach this product. Its currently attacked to my backpack with zip ties. Will upload a picture if interest increase. You need to watch were you walk. Trees low structures and such. On the way back my car my hands are free to sip a cool beverage or check phone.
