DO NOT BUY!!! This was a waste of money. Broke just above coil during instal. Cheaply made and doesn't last. I'd give half a star if I could.

These tensioner cables are thicker than the original OEM that I'm replacing with a new top. I found the driver side cable broken when removing the old top so I ordered this set. The length is perfect and every part is made of stainless steel. (I did the magnet test) If you're replacing the top on your Miata, I highly recommend that you get these tensioner cables and trash the OEM cables.

The cables on these are coated with a clear coating if you can't tell from the pics. I was afraid they weren't when I purchased so I was pleased to find they were. I Installed with the flat side down and the cable/crimped side outbound. The picture shows the passenger (right) side. They work perfect.

Had my top replaced and these went on perfectly, and are a little thicker and tougher than the OEM tension cables.

Overall quality is very obviously the cheapest materials they could get, one spring snapped right apart on me during instal (luckily I had the old one to use).Would never buy them again, go elsewhere if you care about your time and money.

J ai demandé a mon installateur de toit si les cables avaient posé problème, et il m a confirmé que non.Comme c est un installateur d expérience ( 40 + années) et que je sais qu il me l aurait signalé ( c'est le4e toit qu il installe sur une de mes voitures ( différents modèles) je n ai aucun doute que ces cables se sont bien installés ( dans un toit pour miata de marque Robbins dans ce cas-ci ); il m'a dit que les cables se sont passés facilement.
