I ordered this set for the occasional times that I need to flare a line. I tested the bits on some scrap cooper line that I had laying around and I was happy with the results but I haven't actually checked for any leaks yet because I haven't had to flare any active lines. I noticed that I had to be really steady or the flares would be a little wonky, but after doing 3-4 I figured it out and the next couple were nice. You should definitely "practice" a few times with these bits if you haven't flared any type of line before. These work great for my purposes. Also, the quick release holders are for standard 1/4" bits so they can hold other bits. The quick release function works great. I definitely use this set more to hold various bits than to use the flare bits, but the holder works so well, it's a shame to just leave in the tool box until I need to use the flaring bits.

Honestly, I got this for the color-coded bit holders and carabiner. I can use the flaring bits, too, so lets get them out of the way.They are smoothly transitioned, nicely labeled, coated OK, and fit my Kobalt drill as expected. Rotating them (powered), in my fingers, it feels like I would be able to use these on copper under a sink, brake lines under a car... I'm happy to add them, they seem like what I would order and get my beginner DIY use out of.The carabiner.... I was 40ft up in a pine tree that was even taller, and I was so happy to have this damned thing. Hah. Color-coded bit holders, some for drill bits, and some for drivers.... for instance, I had 1/2 inch drill bit on silver and the right socket for my lag bolts on red. No digging in pockets or pouches for my phillips or drill bit or 2 socket sizes.--Pull-- the colored collar with one hand, and you have the bit in the same hand. Also had no issues reattaching with one hand.Fun. So happy with it all.

The quick release clamps often drop the bits and so I have to keep the bits in a bag still to prevent them from falling off of my bag and getting lost. Also, the bits are undersized and require extra rocking motion to make the hole large enough to slide the pipes together.

Am in the process of installing two heap pumps in a house and they use flared connections. This is an interesting way to create a flare on copper pipe using this bit in a drill. I love the holder design with the pop off clips as they come off easy when you need them but they stay firmly there otherwise. I am pleased with the order.
