This unit was the perfect replacement for the one that came with a water pump I purchased. The original filter worked well for years, until water froze inside it and the cap burst into pieces. The stainless screen never showed the slightest bit of rust despite being immersed in water throughout that time. It also filtered out a large amount of hard water deposits, though obviously it won’t catch the smallest stuff. I love that the filter is serviceable, and I never saw any leaks from the o-rings on the fittings. I kept the o-rings from the old unit just in case as a replacement.

I purchased this in April 2015 but just returned home to find this strainer I ordered. It says "In-Line Strainer" the order says "In-Line Strainer;however, this is an "Inlet Style" strainer and it even shows the two styles on the back of the package. This style is made to plug directly into a QUAD pump not inline with the supply hose. And of course it's too late to return it.
