I'm not sure how good they are. Tried one fly and nothing, one of the others worked great. I'm new to tenkara fishing but about 90% of the fish would just open their mouth and spit the fly out, could have just been me.

I would consider this a starter set of nymphs (and woolly buggers) that will get you out on the river to begin working on your sub-surface fly fishing game. The nymph patterns are a couple sizes larger (hook size) and bulkier than you would typically see an experienced nympher using, but I'm sure they can catch some nice fish. The woolly buggers are well executed and will no doubt fish nicely.

Good selection of hand tied flies sure to get the fish. These are all weighted bead head flies for fishing under the surface. Included are two wolly buggers, a favorite on streams everywhere. Two micro nymphs along with a selection of eight other nymphs will insure a wide variety to entice the pickiest of fish.
