I needed this for sofa cushions to size them down. I learned after my purchase that this is for styrofoam, but it did the job. The probe is extremely thin and I guess that if I was using it for styrofoam, it would be perfect!

This is NOT sturdy. In the paper instructions that come with it, it states that the cutter “can only cut low density foam” which was NOT listed in the item’s description. I used it for 15 minutes and with light pressure, and it bent the wire rod badly right away. I used it slowly to make a few cuts, and the melted styrofoam stuck to the hot rod. After it cooled, I tried to clean the rod and it came out of the handle, and there was no way to put it back.
