High density foam has a compression rate of 44lbs. It features the perfect amount of cushioning and stiffness. Its soft but still holds its firmness and support for an individual to sit on it without compressing the foam too much. Compression = firmness compression (not density) is what determines firmness. If you dont want a cushion thats hard as a rock or a mattress that sinks when you sit on it, you have to check the compression or ild number. Compression means the number of pounds necessary to compress a piece of foam 25% and still bounce back to the original thickness. For example, a 4" thick piece of foam that requires 33 lbs. To pack it down 1" and have it return to its full 4" thickness has a 33 lb. Compression rating or (ild) -indention load deflection. - all foam sheets are sold per sheet - not per yard. Do not open with a box cutter. Use a ball point pen or a pencil. Start by making a little incision and break it from there - durability : will last 7 to 10 years Medium density foam is used for firmness yet relax able cushion. It has high quality compression and material to keep it lasting for longer periods of time even when harsh weight is applied. A 50% restocking fee may apply on returned items.

I replaced the seat cushion in a 40+ year old chair. Now it’s like new. It’s only been a few months, so I’m hoping it holds up.

Just received this and it was shrink wrapped to make the package smaller. They did a good job of shrink wrapping. It was a struggle to get it off! But no problem. I bought it because I wanted a sturdy pad to put in a chair to make the seat higher. I bought the 7 inch one. It is very sturdy good quality foam. I’m happy with it right now. I am sitting on it and it is comfortable. I can also get up out of the chair easier which is one of the reasons I wanted to try it. I’m hoping that it holds up overtime and doesn’t get too compressed.

Bought this foam to replace a poorly made chair cushion. We were not certain if would be worth trying to salvage this chair, but it worked. It is high quality, and our chair definitely looks better. However, we discounted other reviews about the firmness of the foam. Seriously, after any lengthy time in the chair, we have to get up. We didn't think foam could be too firm, but this is so firm we are looking for a replacement for this cushion. If you want hard, this is perfect.

I read a lot of reviews. And I was also not sure about the cushion size. I nearly bought larger cushions, because one designer who did a review at another cushion said to order larger. But I went with what I thought I should get based on measuring the covers and the old cushions--which smelled like dog (I bought it used, and that's why I needed new cushions). These were vacuum packed, and super squished. But they opened right up to full size. I bought three to replace all the seat cushions on my couch. It said to leave them 1-5 days to totally inflate, but I suspect they packed them pretty recently, because they were very full size looking right after we cut them out of the packing. I think if they'd been packed like that for a long time, we might have needed to give them more time. They were so full they took some work to get into the covers. Glad I didn't go with the larger size. I went with 6x22x22 for a normal sofa seat cushion (see photo). Yes, they are sturdy/hard/solid--but I'm fine with that, because I want them to last. So the structural integrity is great, as far as I'm concerned. If you want something you're going to sink into, you may want to try another brand. I love them. The sofa looks great. Super happy.
