Excellent riser for raising height of my handlebar.

Bought this in order to sit up straighter on our tandem to deal with upper back and arm pain. It was easy to install and raised the handlebars enough that I can keep riding. The anodizing has faded from black to a weird gold/bronze color. This is sturdy and has held up well for over a 1000 miles.

This extension post appears to be two pieces, the post pressed or shrunk fit into the steering tube post clamp.I used this one to position bars for trial fitting.I would never use one of these this tall-to dangerous.Even the top cap with it's bevel to compensate for a crooked star nut is a bad idea.I cut mine to about 4.5 inches, shortened the bolt and made a new top cap.Be sure to use the spacers as they add a lot of bending resistance to the tube.If you want a safe tall extension the Delta Cycle is the strongest the Satori one is shorter but pretty good. Both are 1 piece posts.

This stem riser extender worked very well. I'm 6'6" and my options before this extender were to I put my seat too low for my legs and have good upper body posture, or raise my seat to the proper height for my legs but be hunched over my handlebars.Performance of the extender is good. The bolts are small diameter compared to the original neck bolts. So far, they are holding, so I gave the extender 5 stars. If they fail, I will look for an extender with beefier bolts.Installation took longer than expected, but not because of the product. I found that the nut in my stem was a little crooked - not enough to notice on the original short bolt, but noticeable with the long bolt. I read a number of reviews that the long bolt was bent, but I wonder if those people had a crooked stem nut assembly like me. I have attached a graphic showing what I found. To straighten the stem nut, I put the original short bolt in without the cap piece, and lightly tapped the head of the bolt while pushing toward center with my finger. The stem bolt on my bike is held in place by 2 star shaped pieces of steel, pressed down into the stem. Not very precise, but easily straightened as described above. With the nut straightened, the long bolt worked perfectly.

With the handlebars higher, my road bike is much more comfortable to ride now. Fortunately (even at the highest setting), my cables were long enough and didn’t have to be replaced!

The OEM handlebars on a 26" 2012 Trek 3500 were too low for its current rider, and the stock steer tube permits zero vertical adjustment. A stem extender a requisite addition for those in desperate need of an elevated handlebar. The FOMTOR stem extender is an excellent quality aftermarket bike doodad. It provides nearly four inches of vertical position along its aluminum tubiness. It includes six aluminum spacer rings paired in three sizes; a lengthy titanium bolt to reach the distant star nut nestled inside the steer tube; and a matching cap.The FOMTOR stem extender clamped to the existing steer tube perfectly with no slop. The titanium stem bolt is sufficiently stout to secure the entire headset to the proper torque, and appears to resist dynamic loads and stresses under normal use (in other words, the headset is quiet). The stem extender, cap, and spacer rings' finish is black powder coat finish. Two "heads up" advisories:While FOMTOR is the brand in this listing, the product you receive is branded FMFXTR. But the brand of stem extender is completely meaningless, as this identical stem extender is sold under a bazillion different brand names with as many different prices here on Amazon and elsewhere. I wish I knew about these risers years ago! Made my bike ride much more comfortable and are SUPER easy to install. Took a couple minutes to complete the install and feels as stable as factory. I'm 6'2" and the extension distance was perfect.
