Ordered this for a 2002 Ford Explorer XLT V8 to fix the infamous door ajar issue. On this particular part that I received, the 2 electrical prongs appeared to be a tad burnt, and not sure what the issue was. After installation, the problem was fixed so I guess what seemed to be burnt prongs was an non-issue.

Perfect replacement. No problems with lights randomly going on or the alarm sounding at night anymore. After looking up in the Ford Forum for how to replace and install, I replaced this switch in 20 minutes. The dealer wanted over $400 to fix the switch problem-and told me they had the special tool to remove the door panel to access the switch. Guess what, the tool was a butter knife to get at a hidden plastic hook, when released exposed a hidden screw to release panel. If you accidently break any plastic retaining pieces that secure the door latch rods, AutoZone carries an assortment of them.
