This reed has been above and beyond my expectations. It didn't pair well with Otto Link STM 7, but it sounds better than my natural reeds with the Yamaha 5C (on a Yamaha YBS-480). Makes a really nice cello-like sound, and can even get a little volume out of it when needed.Time will tell how long it will hold up. I suspect not as long as the Légère one I have, but the sound is nicer, and it feels more like a natural reed to play, so it might be worth the price, presuming uniformity of quality from reed to reed.

Ich habe dieses Blatt vor mehreren Monaten gekauft und seitdem relativ intensiv benutzt. Trotzdem ist die Klangfarbe wie am ersten Tag, sehr intensiv und trocken. Genauso sollte sich für mich ein Bariton anhören, weshalb ich dieses Produkt auf jeden fall nochmal kaufen werden. Ich spiele schon seit einigen Jahr ein Bariton Saxophon und habe schon einiges ausprobiert. Dieses Blatt hat mich am stärksten überzeugt. Ich bin auch schon einige Male mit der Spitze irgendwo hängengeblieben, trotzdem funktioniert es wie am ersten Tag. Normale Holz-Blätter wäre schon längst zerstört, doch dieses hier aus Plastik hat mich mit seiner robusten Eigenschaft vollständig überzeugt. Wieso also nur 4 von 5 Sternen? Es hat am Anfang etwas gedauert, bis ich einen Ton aus dem Gerät bekommen haben. Es ist schon eine gewaltige Umstellung von einem Holz-Blatt zu einem Plastik-Blatt. Fazit: ich empfehle dieses Produkt jedem mit einem Bariton, etwas Erfahrung und einem Hang zur Tollpatschigkeit, wie ich ihn habe :-)

A box of cane reeds for bari sax is $50 and a lot of players will say that there are a few duds in every box. I will always have cane reeds on hand but I also need a good synthetic to be ready for any playing conditions.I tried another brand for awhile and it wasn’t comfortable for my lower lip and the tone was lacking. I ordered the Forestone reed, size medium hard, and tried it on my Rico M9 mouthpiece with a Rovner dark ligature. I was immediately impressed.I brought it to the office and let three students try it - a beginner, an intermediate, and an advanced player. The beginner struggled a bit but the other two took to it right away. They both found it easy to get a sound and also a lot of projection.I’m tempted to get alto and tenor reeds next from Forestone. I’ll see how this one holds up over the next month or so and maybe grab them for the busy summer gig season.Wiener Music is a great seller - reed arrived earlier than expected with a 10% off next purchase offer. Two thumbs up - one for the product and one for the seller!

Fantastic! I double a lot when playing live and prefer the consistency an ever-ready synthetic reed provides. This is the best yet I have tried! Most synthetics are fine when pushed hard, but they have a subpar soft tone sound. This one is very good soft and loud and all around ... if the best natural cane reed in a typical box is a 10/10 for playability and tone, then a Bari plastic reed is about a 5, a Fibracell synthetic is about a 7, and this Forestone Black is about a 9.
