Great value, for a good quality Rod. I burn a lot of 7018- 1/8 rods, & these run as I would expect.

I'm a new welder and still working on it. I don't think there's any problem with these sticks. Just my welding skills. In my defense I was attempting to weld overhead.

I find they need a bit more current to run smoothly but pretty good for the price nonetheless

Sometimes it melts too much and then you have to break the flux away to be able to weld.

Wouldn't buy again! I had bought 6013 with this brand and love them but not these... I compared these to my identical Lincoln rods to see how they compared. I burned both at 120 amp, DCEP and DCEN and preferred the former. This rod, though seemingly burning hoter and penetrating deeper, kept sticking and going out. The Lincoln gave a great bead. At 130 once again, great performance from the Lincoln and a much better run with these rods, although they burned so hot I could clearly see my weld pool penetrating through the 3/32 material and leaving undercut and a very low profile bead. The pictures show 2 flat beads from these at 130 amp and a single bead from the Lincoln at 130 also, both DCEP. Bottom line... It seems you have to run these at high amp so these are good rods if all you want are very hot deep penetrating welds, but not much good for anything else.

The plastic was torn but the plastic box was unopened. It had been raining for a day or two but I tried to run one anyway. Had the machine cranked up past 150 just to get it to run and not stick. Finally landed on 165 to run it ..put rods in heater box and next day ran good at 155. Next day. 150 laid down , good penetration,. Restart on partial rods a hard drag flux capa.off electrode but it'll handle not so clean of surface well.. could've been 4 stars if the rods hadn't hit 75% on my moisture reader for concrete. Think the allowed moisture is far lower to meet spec better packaging would have solved it ..

Excellent choice if you need this particular rod type. I had no issues with striking an arc and they burned well.

So these electrodes are ok. Not the best I've used, but still not bad. They arced pretty easily, ran smooth, and left a good bead. Nothing to complain about really. The packaging is another story. 7018 rods need to be kept dry, and they arrived with the plastic film on the outside of the box wadded up at the bottom of the shipping box, and there was electrode dust all over the inside. There was also no moisture absorber. If that hadn't been the case, I would have given it five stars.

These rods work fine for me. I set my little DC inverter welder to about 120A on some 3/16" wall pipe to test them out. They go down with just the right amount of penetration, the puddle is easy to control, and the slag peels right off. My welds look just like the pro welds you see in YouTube videos, and I'm a complete welding amateur.I did find them very difficult to restart UNTIL I discovered a trick on YouTube from a welding instructor: just briefly scrape them on a piece of sandpaper to rough up the end, and they start just as easily as new!Mine came well packaged in a plastic bin covered in more sealed plastic.

I love it. They work amazing and my husband is teaching me to weld and I will definitely keep buying your stuff. Also comes with a great heavy duty Kawasaki green.
