This is the smoothest welding rod I've used thus far. It sparks easily, runs very smoothly and produces a great bead. However, it's expensive and the price keeps going up... Bought it a month or so ago for 30$ cad/lb. Wanted to buy again... but now it's around 34$ cad/lb. :(

This rod was a bit pricey, but if you are new to stick welding, it is absolutely worth it. You won't have to worry about varying steel compositions or even dialing in the perfect amperage. This rod worked great on 120V and 240V setups for me, and wasn't particularly sticky. I used it to teach my girlfriend how to weld, and she was not nearly as frustrated as I was twenty-five years ago when I started out. Forget about might welders. The technology today makes it remarkably easy to do structural quality welds with no shielding gas and minimal equipment. I probably would not choose this product for personal use on account of the price, but for anyone looking to learn the art of welding, this is a must-have.

I'm a home hobby welder who does pretty well with a MIG gun, but my stick welding is hit or miss at times. I have worked with stainless a few times but have never had such good results before! I don't do it often enough to justify a TIG setup, but for occasional projects I am really pleased with how easy these rods make things. Highly recommended.

The best kept secret of stick welding! Anybody and their Mother can run a nice bead with these things. More expensive than your typical 60xx or 70xx electrode but who gives a crap if you're not burning pounds of rod a day. For your typical hobbiest or home diy, 312-16's are the way to go. Do yourself an additional favor and try the 1/8" rods too. They run great even on my 120 volt toaster sized box (Amico DC-160A, the Blue one).

Welded well and are much cheaper here than any local welding stores.

Great rod for single run welds. The easiest rod I've ever used to start an arc. Really hard slag! Kinda hard to clean off slag for multiple passes. Great all around stainless rod to use on most any metals. Very tuff filler metal. Not brittle at all.
