Using for kitchen vent. Fit perfectly in a 6" hole made by hole saw and has been functioning fine. The flap has caused some excess noise when wind is present, keeping this from a 5 star review.

This is a nice looking and sturdy vent cover with damper. The vent tube on the back of the cover fits inside a standard 4" vent tube, with spring tabs that hold it fairly securely while installation is completed. I needed to mount the cover on a brick surface, so I used a 1/8" carbide tip masonry bit and #8 x 1 1/4" zinc flat-head screws. This gave me a very secure mount, and in addition to sealing around the provided rubber gasket I also sealed around the screw heads. The vent cover includes a thin rubber gasket where the damper closes and also has a thin rubber pad on the inside of the cover where it opens, so it doesn't make a lot of noise when it opens/closes or gets blown around on a windy day. Drilling into brick is never fun, but the installation went smoothly and quickly, and the finished job looks great.

This thing took me all of 5 seconds to install. Perfect fit, just measure if you think about buying. The functionality works great. Had it for three weeks and the durability is good too.

Well made and easy to install. Seals well...however:When installed vertical, the flap did not quite seal well enough to keep the air from coming in. The bottom of the flap was maybe 1/16th of an inch away from sealing. I solved the problem by putting a small magnet on the "fresh air" surface, mid-way up on the edge of the flap so ,while it wasn't enough weight or magnetic grab to interfere with the opening of the flap, there was enough magnetism to keep it closed when not in use.Happy with the purchase.

This vent looks great and installs easily - using a 6" hole saw, the vent installed easily. The only issue is that on windy days, the non-return flap blows open and allows air to flow into the house. To solve the problem, I installed a backdraft damper in the duct to allow air to flow out but not in. A very nice product, and will keep insects and other undesirables from entering the duct. I recommend...

stainless steel so great for outdoor. easy to install and have the baffle with magnetic to block out the outside air and bug. since it is magnetic baffle door, it mean the low grade stainless steel. Time will tell if it rust or it will last and shine. it come with the gasket to sealed the cover to the wall BUT it would not work with siding. I would love to see the company offer an siding mounting plate that conform to the vinyl or cedar siding so the vent can me mount flush with the wall.I end up spent 2 hours to custom a mounting flange that mated with my vinyl siding.
