I compared this to 3 different compact light weight light stands, and yes, it is considerably lighter! I love the look and feel, but in practical use, this stand can't be used with any more than a speed light, cell phone and indoors. As a professional photographer, we also need security And sturdiness in our equipment, and this stand is outright horrible in it's level of sturdiness. The carbon fiber shaft wobbles just by touching it let alone if someone was to bump it or face wind. The base also feels like it's made of plastic I comparison to the other brands. And the fact that this doesn't use traditional knobs, there is no place above the base (there is a hook at the base) to even hand any weights. So the wreight savings you get in the stand is countered with the sand bags and additional weights you have to carry on the side to keep this thing froma falling over. For those who want to use this with a ring light, cellphone, or speed lights, this is HIGHLY recommended. But for anyone planning on using this for a camera, strobe, softbox, or umbrella .... Good luck, you will be dropping and replacing your gear.

I don't know why there are so few carbon fiber light stands like this. I don't see any others (on Amazon or elsewhere) that combine these features: 20in folded length, Reasonably tall, Removable column, Twist locks (which are lower profile than flip locks or other fasteners). This ticks all those boxes and it's sturdy too. I really can't believe it. I ordered one to check it out, but going back for more. Pro Tip: To remove the center column, keep unscrewing it from the base. I didn't see any progress when I unscrewed it at first, but the threads are long so you just need to keep turning and it will release, revealing an aluminum plug at the bottom of the pole with a female 3/8 thread. This is a great carbon fiber boom pole / stand for microphones, BTW.

There are some bolts and nuts that hood the legs together that keep on falling loose, I lost a set already and always come loose. I have two stands and both have the same issue. I wish in would have bought the manfrotto brand.Stand are ultralight. I know that’s the purpose of it but almost feels unusable at a full length.Would not consider it a pro product due to reliability.

This tripod is true carbon fiber. It is lightweight but we were in wobbles if you are not stabilizing your camera before walking away to take a photo with your phone app

A few details that aren't obvious:. All the pivots are screws, so it's possible to tighten them, or easily replace a leg if it ever became damaged. The bag shown isn't included, but mine did come with a tiny ball swivel as an extra. These are sturdy enough to hold a speedlight, a LED panel or stick, or even an AD200. As long as you're indoors, and don't have to worry about wind.Overall, these were a good deal, and saved me a couple pounds carry weight.

I've been very pleased with this lightstand since I've gotten it. My primary criteria was finding a compact lightstand that could fold down to

I've been looking for something like this for traveling for a while now. I travel a lot and tend to take selfies (tripod + timer) quite a bit and have been limited for a long time with only on camera flash. This is light enough we can travel with it and give me the flexibility of off camera or additional light sources. I will be traveling with it in 2 weeks and will update this if necessary.
