This is a strong and functional Y for 5/8" diameter hose. It's a 45° Y, not a "T". I would guess that it is glass-filled nylon.Why did I knock it down to four stars? The flash is excessive and the part a bit crudely molded. It's all good once you clean it off. Don't cut yourself!

It was hard for me to find a Y fitting locally so i decided to purchase this one on amazon. I used it for a custom application for some 5/8 heater hose in my 2004 Saturn Ion Redline. It fit nice. I slide the hose all the way to the base so that it was nice and snug. Its good quality and 9 months later it still good and i would definately recommend this fitting.

There's another version of this product sold (under the same and different names) that includes four hose clamps and a small length of heater hose. I should have gotten that one because it doesn't cost much more.It worked on my 2003 Durango cabin heater hose fix instead of my buying a $100 heater hose. The factory y-connector splits the one engine connect to front and rear heater cores - and it is permanently glued in. I broke the connector apart and made sure i removed the adapter parts that end up inside the heater hoses.

Saved me a few $$$ as this connector works well with the 06 and up Mercury Mountaineer and Ford Explorer 4.6 heater hose. I had a leak twoards the rear of the engine bay on the pass side, the splitter was the culprit.

Piece of weak plastic, don't understand the positive reviews, instead I used a brass T which resulted much more reliable.

I recently used this connector to repair my 2008 Mercury Mountaineer (4.6 v8). So far it's worked like a charm. All I needed was this, three hose clamps and around two hours of my Saturday. The stealership wanted $900 to replace the assembly, this repair cost around $15. The first picture is the old, broken factory connector and the second is the repair. Hope this helps somebody.Update 2/7/17 - It's still holding strong after a little over a year. Not sure why the bad reviews.Update 3/5/18 - Still holding just fine.
