The Sway Control is used to reduce trailer sway and improve handling in adverse towing conditions. Sway control units dampen trailer sway caused by crosswinds and traffic. Both friction and dual cam designs improve stability and increase towing safety.
Also included is the bolt-on sway control adapter. Bolt-on sway control adapter attaches to standard 2 inch ball mounts to provide a mounting point for friction sway controls. The ball mount platform must be 2-1/2" wide and have a 1" ball hole. The adapter is made of 3/8" thick material and mounts under the hitch ball. When installed, the shank length of the hitch ball must be long enough to allow at least two threads to be visible when the hitch ball is installed and the nut is completely tightened. A hitch ball with an extra long shank may be required. The adapter fits standard 2" ball mounts equipped with 2-1/2" wide ball platform - sold separately. The ball hole size for the hitch ball is 1" and 5/8" for the sway ball. It features a black powder coat finish over e-coat resists corrosion.
Use of Sway Controls with surge brakes is not recommended.
A and C Trailer Tongues Only. Will not adapt to pole tongue trailer frame.
The adapter cannot be used with Class I drawbars/ball mounts. Ball platform does not prevent adapter from turning during tightening.

I have a small18 ft RV. I thought maybe I would not need any sway control. The trailer is pretty light and I am towing with a Dodge Ram. However I did notice a little sway and thought if it was very windy I might need it. Well, I purchased the friction anti sway assy. I thought I would put it on as it was pretty straight forward as far as assembly. However, the RV was going in the shop for some more technical work, so decided to throw this on the work order. When I picked up the trailer we were experiencing 30 mph winds hitting the trailer on the side. This made me real nervous. The trailer towed great! Dont get me wrong, I could FEEL the wind but there was no sway. It was a very good purchase.

Purchased this in hopes it would help stop sway on my small 4 X 8 2 wheeled trailer but it won't bolt up to the tongue and truck properly.

Excellent product that solved our sway problem on our pull behind trailer. Install was easy but read the instructions carefully, do it by the book.

The sway control doesn't come with very good instructions. There is nothing to instruct you how to adjust the bottom bolt nor how to adjust the top handle. I got it too tight the first trip. Handled better loosening the bottom bolt and the top handle a little bit. Once you find the right setting, you can leave it there for future trips. It stopped my trailer for swaying and when 18 wheelers go blowing buy us I hardly feel it anymore. Installation was pretty easy.

Works exactly as described by the sellerThe only thing I don't like about it is it creaks and groans a lot when it's tight but other than that it works perfectly
