First of all, I love these and purchase them every year. I do save a lot on my heating bill. What I found cool recently, is that in my area, when you move into a new place and start new service, they send you a care package that includes first aide stuff but more relevantly, it includes these! It is best done with 2 people but can be done with 1, and if you use warm, not hot, air settings on your blow dryer you can get a very tight and clear suction. If you have cats though? Either restrict their access, or buy a lot of thicker scotch tape. "wounds" in the film are pretty well covered with such tape

There's a learning curve. I made so many mistakes on my Patio Window/Door, that I was a Pro by the time I got to my bedroom window. I press very hard on the tape before I pull off the backing. I let it cure 10-15 minutes. I opened the plastic all the way -- it's double folded and hard to see. Then I cut the pieces shorter and left the width I needed. It's easier to work with shorter plastic. It's also easier to use shorter lengths of tape. I used a pointy tool to remove the tape backing. Then after one pieces was installed, I placed tape across it and started the 2nd piece of plastic higher on the window. Worked just fine for me without any gaps. My blinds cover the plastic so I don't have to see it. This takes longer than you think it will because the plastic catches on the tape and you need to be careful. You need to let tape cure 10-15 minutes after you remove the backing. I recommend cutting the plastic into shorter pieces, then using extra tape to connect them to each other once the first piece is installed. THANK YOU

Put this on the window where we have a pet window inserted. We used two of these to surround the whole window plus the cat window entrance and it's working out very well. Easy to use. We will leave this up all year to prevent warmth from coming in come summer time.

One of the bedrooms in my home is warmer than the others (in the summer in AZ) and it is extremely uncomfortable. We used this on the window, and there is a noticeable difference. Definitely worth it as a cheap and easy solution. It took about 5 minutes to install. Some reviews say it’s hard to get on straight but it doesn’t have to go on perfectly. It was a little messy and wrinkled in one corner when I installed it but once you blow dry it, it smooths out all of the wrinkles and makes a good seal.

I personally found these pretty difficult to get up, but I really would attribute that to user error - I’m just not a handy person. I felt like they did help with keeping heat in, but I only had them for a short time since my cats ended up trying to bring them down (but that’s not the products fault)

Moved into a new house recently and when winter rolled around, I noticed a window would let cold air into the house especially on windy days. I didn't have time to reseal the windows so got this given the price and it works really well. Its a night and day difference. It was a bit awkward to install if you are doing it by yourself, but its easily doable. However, it has fully sealed the window and stopped cold air from coming in.

While it does keep the cold air out for old windows, I have found a better solution. I’m buying painter plastic tarps and cut them down to size. The material is a few mils thicker and much less costly. Of course, buy the double sided tape to adhere to the window frame.

It insulate the window as it supposed but:The double side tape is not super sticky, I recommend to heat the surface of the window frame before for a better and easier job.Only one person installing the clear plastic will have a lot of problems trying to make it good, for me it was impossible the take out the shrinks

It does serve the purpose to keep draft out but one continuous issue is the double sided tape doesn’t stay 100%. I always have to fix different area every other day. Wish the adhesive would work better.

J'ai suivi exactement les instructions mais le ruban adhésif double face ne maintient pas le film en place tout autour de la bordure, nous ne pouvons donc pas obtenir le plein effet de l'isolation. C’est domage.

EDIT 11/16/20: the directions clearly state that the "Shrink Window Kit" can be applied to metal window frames. NOT!!I realized that the reason the tape didn't stick overnight was due to moisture. The change in temperature outside caused moisture inside to accumulate on the frame...tape lost adhesion and fell off.Once I realized this, I used packing tape and attached the plastic to the wall. Voila!! Still in place after several days and no moisture between the window and the plastic. I'll likely have to repair/repaint when I get new windows, but at least I'm not dealing with cold air coming into my bathroom.Simple instructions:1) clean the window frame - did this very carefully, allowed it to dry for 30 minutes.2) apply tape - not all that easy to do. Putting it in place is easy...keeping it there as you remove the tape backing, not so much.3) allow to adhere for 15 minutes - I waited at least 30 minutes.4) Apply the film to the tape - HAH!!! They forgot to mention that you have to keep it from applying itself wherever it wants to stick. I ended up rolling it into a tube to keep control and carefully unroll it as I stuck it on.5) smooth with hair dryer - the only easy part of the whole process. It looked great after I finished applying to my small bathroom window (40 X 15). The next project was to be the 2 large windows in the kitchen. When I got up this AM, the film had started to fall down. Didn't last a full 24 hours. The kitchen windows will have to wait for replacement windows. Not sure where all those 4 & 5 star reviews came from.
