A ABIGAIL Fuel Filler Door Housing Hinge Pocket allows you to open the fuel cap and put the fuel nozzle for refilling. Your original gas door housing began to malfunction after a few years and therefore it may not close properly and need to be replaced.

I put this on my 2004 F150 because as always the fuel door was broken. The installation took maybe 15-20 minutes and it was a super easy job. It's been on my truck for close to 2 years now and it still works just like the day I got it. I didn't expect something for only $20 to last this long but honestly it's performed well and this is a perfect replacement if you need it.

This item will work, but takes a lot more effort to get it installed, as it is a bit larger (just enough to make a noticeable difference). Resulted in "lip" around outer edge to getting deformed to force the piece into place. If it has to be replaced, it will be coming out in pieces.

I like the fact that the swivel pin and and lever are metal on this fuel door. The original ones were plastic and thats why the pin broke. I sprayed the spring, lever and pin with fluid film before installation. I used a pipe from my shop vac with a short pickup nozzle and a floor jack to lift the fill tube up so I could insert the new assembly. I had to insert the new assembly with the hinge at about 10 o'clock then forced the assembly in with a rubber mallet. once I got it in I could rotate it CCW into position, remove the jack and install the screws, which were 7mm. I put anti-seize on the screws prior to re-installation.
